This Horse Whisperer column is often interesting as it says things the usual PR guys wouldn't dream of, but it is usually full of crap. This time they've got it spot on. Pirelli's decision to change the tyres is a knee jerk rection to some whining after a race that has always been hard on the tyres. Surely the answer is to wait a while longer before making any decisons, to see if teams get used to them, or the different circuits even things out.

"caused by the breakage of a mechanical component within the system" I think anyone who saw the race could have confidently made that assumption!

The last sentence almost implies Ross Brawn and Mercedes had no connection with Honda other than taking the vacant slot on the entry list! Honda haven't had much credit for Brawn's success (the team not the man), and this sort of statement distances them even more.

Interesting to see that not only did Vetell do the most laps, but as a team Red Bull did too with 472 laps, way ahead of the rest with Sauber the only other team in the 400s with 430. Bianchi certainly impressive, and Lotus looks to have the quickest driver pairing, if only Grosjean can play well with others. Race of Champions victory tells us nothing!

Boo - you say Perez only came second, but that was only behind Maldonado, who you already said had been trying for ages. I agree with you point, but your 'evidence' isn't perfect.

Why, Danny Don, is this not news? Yes, every team is beavering away on next year's car, but not every team has a Rory Byrne doing it. This shows how seriously Ferrari are taking it, dragging him out of retirement. They've been pretty much on the wane since he left.

It may still have the hump, Richard, but its disguised very well. If last year's cars looked this good nobody would have been whinging about stepped noses.

Stepped noses weren't banned, just an optional bit of trim allowed to cover them up. I think this looks great, despite the stepped nose, though might be difficult to distinguish from the McLarens from some angles. Thank god the tail is a different colour!

Anglesey must be close to 200 miles from Ebbw Vale, and a hard 200 miles at that, so I doubt the Anglesey track people are too concerned. The only reason to worry would be in a fight for Welsh Assembly cash, and I don't think either would get much anyway!
