With the increase in the number of races and fewer free weekends inbetween, surely the FIA are just considering the welfare of the team personnel? It might seem nanny state, but it is only the same as goes on in many other industries with working time directives, and as it will still be possible to work 18 hour days, not actually as restrictive as most industries. With 4 allowable exceptions, exceptional circumstances are still covered. So assuming a 10am start to the sessions, the restriction would be from midnight 'til 6. Sounds fair enough to me.

The Reanult Team are part of the heritage? Shame fior France? Exactly what was Renault and French about the team? The name perhaps, and the flag, but lets not forget it was essentially still Benetton/Toleman from Oxfordshire. Renault are still an engine supplier, which is something they've had far more success in, so why be saddened?

I think things are different when it is just the second part of the name - everyone knows thats just the engine builder. With the prospect of 2 teams racing as Lotus-Renault, then people might understandably think they are running the same chassis. Perhaps they should be Lotus Genii-Renaults and Tune Lotus-Renaults, if that helps?

Sorry Martin, your last paragraph is complete tosh! 'Group Lotus Renault' isn't a new entity. Lotus have bought a few shares in a team from Genii Capital who had bought a few more shares from Renault. Lotus /Proton have also bought the naming rights to the team, though they are too late to change the officially entered name unless they have the agreement of every other team.
