BTCC » Fans' favourite Jackson firms up 2011 plans

Back tracking? Me - never! I bet you don't have to go back far to find a reference on here to Paul O'Neill as fans favourite, and probably Shaun Hollamby too. I'm just pointing out what a daft and meaningless term it is that Crash has used. As for Matt Jackson, I've nothing against him (apart from driving a BMW, but that'll be fixed this year), so I'll leave the insults to the Truth.

F1 » Lotus Renault GP to change to British licence

Jerusalem might be the anthem used in the commonwealth games now, but it was Land of Hope and Glory for a long time. It only changed last year. Toleman, and then Benetton were both licensed as English, but I think Benetton then changed to Italian, and then Renault changed it to French, yet all the time being a predominantly British based team from Oxfordshire. What's happening now is nothing new for this team.

BTCC » Fans' favourite Jackson firms up 2011 plans

You've just proven the point I was trying to make - we all have our own favourites! "Fans Favourite" is a daft expression which should be qualified "as voted for by.." etc to have any meaning. I can't say I've met Mat Jackson or Hollamby, but I've met Paul O'Neill a couple of times and he's a great bloke, but I don't doubt the others are too. To be fair to Crash, in the text they did say "one of the fans favourites".

F1 » Alonso: New Ferrari will suit me better

I don't think being Spanish is the reason to dislike him, but being of any nationality that enables you to get ridiculous amounts of sponsorship that others aren't able to get is. I'm not nationalistic in any way, and I empathise with Trulli who made the comment that being Italian it is impossible to get Italian sponsorship unless you are in a Ferrari. I guess it is also impossible to get any Spanish sponsorship unless you're Alonso, or if they ain't got much to give, if you're HRT!

F1 » BBC names 5 live line-up for F1 2011

I quite agree with Jimmy, the few times I've listened to the 5 Live commentery it's been excellent, so much better than Legard, but I do like Brundle. Problem is I just don't seem to have the time to sit and watch a race live, so I usually find myself watching it later or at best delayed half an hour or more and having to fast forward through some of the quieter bits. If they can manage to get a Sky+ to record all the red button stuff at the same time I'd be sorted!
