Great ride from Casey, 46 just wasn't fast enough round here.
Best bits about this race:
- The rain yesterday, that was pretty exciting
- Eurosport showed it LIVE
Honestly. The best thing Dorna could do (to save costs too) would be to ditch the 800's and pull out the old 990's from 2006. Ban rider aids.
How sweet would that be

MotoGP goes single tyre for 2009.
1 disagrees.
Come on Dunlop - secure the rights and make everything mad again! Dunlop provide tyres for 125, 250 and 800? It'd be great!
And they'd have rubbish grip - we might see sliding again!

STR success reignites 'customer' debate.
It's an interesting topic, with ups and downs on both sides. The current eco climate does lean towards the customer car side, but in all fairness, this is F1. If you're worried about money, then F1 really isn't the sport to compete in at all. I like Williams a lot, so maybe that makes my view biased or something, but they talk a lot of sense. Why should they invest everything in their car when anyone can just come along and buy something (similar concept to Indycar) and jump on the podium? It's not that easy of course, but what happens when we start seeing customer McLaren's and Ferrari's? Would that be fair on Renault, Toyota, Williams etc? That's my view anyway

Rossi: Great race in dry, no race in wet?
I''m surprised the organisers haven''t just issued a blanket "move everything 3 hours forward" press release. At least that way it''s easier for everyone involved to understand the new schedule. It seems like the only option is the move the races into the morning to avoid the torrential rain forecast. Hope the race happens - I''ll be watching Monza then flick straight over the Eurosport and leave it on in the background in case it magically pops on a few hours easlier than planned. Hope the race will be fun!

Melandri to Kawasaki.
5 agree.
I do worry.... Hopefully we'll see the hungry, super fast Marco next season. He's so up and down with his form. Nicky should suit the Duc. Shame about Westy because he's a good rider. But with his results, the writing was unfortunately on the wall, even after Brno. As long as he starts winning in SBK or SS, everything will be cool.

Five options to slow down MotoGP.
2 agree.
Time: "When Rossi was dominate the show was "great" because he was marketable. But when Stoner does then there is a problem?" Not really mate, most of Rossi's battles in 04/05 were close. Soo many last few lap battles in 2004 that were great to watch. Laguna this year was great for the same reason. Casey has been so good recently that he's been dissapearing into the distance. Impressive but boring. It wasn't coss Rossi was winning, it was great becuase there were so many last lap fights!

Don't think "as many as you want" suits the current climate VH...recession and all. The 990's were better imho. But part of that was down to crapper tyres, so lots of smoking (remember 2003?!) and less electronics. The 800's were a backwards step in my mind. Why not just allow less fuel in the 990's? Cut 1 litre each year until they were down to around 18, then all the focus would be on making them fast and efficient. Gotta say though....Saltbrush made me laugh - spot on mate. Ban Rossi and Stoner - they go round corners too fast!

990cc = good -> limit on top speed? This isn't a motorway. Increase weight of 800cc? No Remove fly by wire? If it removes lots of the aids (TC) - yes! Narrow tyre rims? Better to get rid of aids. Single control tyre - better to get rid of aids

Patrick is not doing much to change my opinion of her. Pretty poor role model, and not particularly deserving of her seat. Get a real driver in there.

PICTURE: Edwards' US GP livery.
Didn't want to jinx anything before the race, but almost everyone who races a special livery has a rubbish race...I can only think of Rossi and Vermulen who bucked that trend. Great race though
