There seems to be a total absence of logic in Max's proposal. I know I wont have enough room here to really express myself, but here goes. I live in the land of One Make Racing from the highest level of racing to the lowest. The IRL is Formula Honda, NASCAR is Formula Saloon Car, Grand Am racing is Formula Roller Skate! The lower levels (FBMW, IPS and Formula Atlantic)are all single chassis/motor/tire combinations which is where it should be. The highest form of development and technology MUST NOT be bastardized into another spec racing series! That is not what Formula ONE is supposed to be! The ALMS and Le Mans may be the only High Tech racing left!

I remember that Max helped Bernie create FOTA's predecessor the famed FOCA and everyone thought he would bring a level head to the FIA. If I was given a choice between Vatanen and Jean Todt, I'd side more for the Fin. However, when you get down to it, I really think that Minardi's Paul Stoddart would be an excellent choice. He might shake up the whole organization!

Having lived within walking distance of die Ost Kurve of the Hockenheimring and spent time at both the old and new Nurburgring, been to Donington, Silverstone and Brands Hatch and currently spend much of my time at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, I'd love to see a GP at that track. I also went to Fuji for a Formula Two race in the late sixties' It was different back then. I have alsways been in favor of holding two or three F1 races in America and at least two in Canada because of their (our) size! But not at Indianpolis! Proper Uppy-Downie, Lefty-Righty road racing circuits. Properly promoted the crowds would come! Just had to put my two cents in!

Raw, I know that saying because I've experienced it more or less over my forty plus years in the game. Doesn't stop me from trying, though. I have a professional website that expresses my views on this business. Gil Bouffard

The question is: Do you know how to make a million dollars in motorsport? Start with $10 Million! A1 ran only one race in the United States and never ran in Canada! The only people who knew that Andretti Green were racing in A1 were the Andretti Green team! No television! Zero media! I was at Brands for the inaugural race and I believed that there was a market for A1 but it was run by the racers themselves rather than employing a marketing/businessman! Dan Partel and EFDA did a better job with the Nations Cup in Formula Opel/Vauxhall! I know I was there!

I don't suppose that the self righteous Mr. Mosley thought to apoligise to three time Formula One World Champion Sir Jackie Stewart for insulting him by calling him a certified nitwit! Max has become the Jean-Marie Balestre of the 21st Century, the man he replaced. Take a hike Max!

Actually, I disagree. Out here in California, I have stayed up late and gotten up early to see how long Jenson can keep it going! I am particularlty interested in how Rubens and Sebastian Vettel perform. Its a bit too bad that all the other teams have been caught with their nickers in a twist! Its sorta like waiting for the other shoe to drop! If Jenson goes all the way it'll just mean that a lot of money was spent for whatever! The only "real," innovation to have come out of F1 this year has been Toyota's nose replacement dolly!

And that is why I'll be in Monterey, California, at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca over the weekend 14-16 August for the 36th Monterey Historic Automobile Automobile Races! It is always a special event on my calendar. If I could get to Goodwood, I'd have two big events on my calendar.

As a journalist who has had an interest in International Grands Prix racing since 1955, I have witnessed the rise of Grand Prix racing to Formula One from a low prize paying sport supported by auto manufacturers to the commercially high paid racing series it is today. Most of you need a real history lesson! Grand Prix F1 races were National events held annually. What we have today is a traveling money making circus but it aint Grands Prix! Does anyone remember when F1 was Formula Super Ford and nearly every car was powered by Cosworth? How about when the cars were painted Green, Silver, Blue and Red?

HHMmm! Most of you are probably too young to remember Stirling Moss, Juan Manuel Fangio, Mike Hawthorn, Jim Clark, Phil Hill, Peter Collins or any of the GREAT Grand Prix drivers! They seemed to get along quite well without animosity toward each other. The problem today is that there is too much BS in F1 today. Vettel is a smart cookie! No manager whispering in his ear. "You are the greatest!" or "Don't talk to them." in this case Villeneuve is a ******!

I agree with kartman's comment about the business acumen of the ever popular Bernard Ecclestone. however, I might get a little upset if USF1 were to call their cars "Eagle," without checking with Dan Gurney first.
