RECOMMENDED COMMENT
40 agree.
35 disagree.
It's a testament to Spies' skill and talent as a rider, and to the brand new R1 that they can be this competitive, really. The Yamaha team is doing decently, and Tom Houseworth is Ben's ace in the hole. (Anybody see similarities between this duo and another famous pairing for Yamaha?)
Ben may not win the title at seasons end, but he's more than given notice that he's a force to be reckoned with. Kudos to the young man for that.

Ben Spies: I did better than I expected
2 agree.
For his first "real" outing in MotoGP, Spies has done an amazing job of it. His measured approach and immeasurable talent paid off in spades, and his team (especially Houseworth and 'Woody') were likely the best team to watch, next to Rossi and JB. Though next year will only have a satellite bike under him, I predict he will be a serious contender . Probably not for wins, but most certainly for 'best of the rest' (after all, it's only a satellite bike
)

Rossi: It's me or Lorenzo at Yamaha in 2011!
3 agree.
4 disagree.
When Lorenzo can develop a bike, instead of using someone else's data, then we'll see him become a useful asset to yamaha. Until that time comes, JL is a prima-donna and nothing more. Rossi has 7 top class world titles. What does Lorenzo have? Oh yeah..Rossi ALSO has a 250 title..and a 125 title. Hm. Easy to see which rider to go with, in light of these small details.

Melandri 'angry' at 'stupid' problem, already focussed on 2010
Fly by wire throttles just don't thrill me. Give me a good old fashioned cable, and I'm happy. Still, for GP, FBW makes sense, I guess. Map the throttle to conditions and the track, and you might save possible accidents or wear and tear on the engine. Maybe the return spring was bad?

Lorenzo can be ‘biggest rider in the future’
1 agrees.
1 disagrees.
Lorenzo has yet to show he can develop a bike in any fashion. Until he can stop relying on Rossi's data and input, then he'll only be merely a "good" rider. Without Rossi and Burgess, Lorenzo is an also-ran.

Spies to MotoGP early, Toseland out of Tech 3?
4 agree.
2 disagree.
If House and Woody go with Ben to MotoGP, my money says Spies will be a top 5 rider (satellite bike being limited from the factory, of course) all day, any day.

Rossi: 800cc MotoGP's biggest mistake for 15 years.
@Yamaha-M1-Fan... I'm with you, in that regard. I don't watch MotoGP anymore, as it's become far too boring. On the other hand, I'm having a great time with WSBK this year..

Rossi: 800cc MotoGP's biggest mistake for 15 years.
4 agree.
The odd thing is that making the switch to 800cc likely hasn't cut any costs at all really. I'm a mechanical engineer, and I can tell you that the parts involved in displacement don't really matter much, in regards of cost versus manufacture. They're just not that complicated, and *only* mechanical parts. With the advent and consequent advancement in the electronics packages, however, it is entirely concievable that the costs have, in fact risen.

Spies to MotoGP early, Toseland out of Tech 3?
14 agree.
I'd be willing to bet that Ben brings Tom Houseworth along. They're a proven combination (much like VR and JB) and to split this combination would be folly.

Hayden aiming to fuel the party.
6 agree.

It might just be that NH could be the one who's hard work might pull the Duc up toward being a decent GP bike that's usable for more than just one freakish rider. That is, if Suppo pulls his head out and resigns the guy...

MotoGP 2010 - the grid so far.
Toolsland to Fiat Yamaha? I think somebody's hitting the pipe a bit hard. More likely, he winds up on a Honda team, is my bet.
