F1 » Ecclestone warns quieter F1 could be costly

I am genuinely gutted I never got to hear a 'loud' formula one race in the flesh - I hope I havent lost the opportunity forever. Saying that, F1 has DEFINATELY lost something - and its not insignificant - without the incredible noise, its just another racing series I'm afraid to say. They used to be fighter jets, now they are fuel efficient business jets - just not the same, and you wouldn't fill an airshow with business jets... I hope they realise just how much this harms the spectacle... I'm a big f1 fan, but the sound NEEDS to change.

BobaFett: Bottom line, if you are focused on the noise enough to leave F1, you never got it in the first place and are better off spending your time doing something else.
I would say the complete opposite - if you thought you got F1 and the sound makes no difference, then YOU are better off doing something else. You need to hear one in the flesh to appreciate it properly maybe. I used to crank my volume up when Ted Kravitz stood next to the cars doing practice starts just last year - such a fantastic sound which I hope we haven't lost for good. The ear splitting noise is the SOUL of F1 - its just boring without it! Will F1 cars still do 'inner city demos'? I can't imagine will be very popular anymore!

F1 » Red Bull to appeal Ricciardo exclusion

Surely any fuel sensor should give a prediction for how much fuel was burnt during the race - they know the weights before and after - so if the FIA sensor says 120kg was burnt - yet in reality only 100kg was used, then somewhere the FIA sensor is clearly faulty. Maybe I'm oversimplyfying it, but it shouldn't take them this long to sort something like this out.

MotoGP » Crutchlow: The rule just got better for us again!

grantrd: Absolute joke.... Ducati s image is terrible at best, this will make it even worse.\blockquote] Agreed. Can they really celebrate and use the marketing etc without putting a little asterisk in the corner of posters?! Very artificial rules designed to improve the show and keep Ducati in the championship. I hope they are nowhere near the front, as frankly, they don't deserve to be.

F1 » What we learned at the Australian Grand Prix

Thepain: A laughing lesson is that Max should just stay at home. At one point Brundel said: " look at Max running in-front of Kimi" David reply: "Yes, but he is 6laps down on the rest". The race was all ready 16 laps in. Noise: It was just sad. I waited the whole time, just read everything, didn't do any youtubing for the engine sounds, so that it can be a all new and exciting season start. Just to find it sounding like a F3 race. We just love the sound of a high power machine driven to the edge(not in Maxxis case).
FYI, that was Bianchi not Chilton, he started from the pitlane literally a few laps after everyone else, so it wasn't (totally) because of lack of pace). I totally agree about the noise (or lack of). F1 will suffer massively if they don't change it - mark my words.
