MotoGP » Rossi: Disappointment after Valencia 'very big'

Jiri Simek: When you quit, it is likely that the MOTOGP world loses many supporters mean 'fanboys'.
Fanboys of the greatest ever motorcycle racer... a guy whose won 9 world titles in 19 years? Whats the harm in that? The guy is a legend, and arguably bigger than Motogp at this point, it WILL NOT be the same without him - surely any 'real' Motogp fan could see that? Oh and as for last year, it is possible for Marquez to affect the result of the championship, and he chose to make Lorenzo champion, Rossi and i'm sure most people in the paddock know this, though they won't say it publicly. That was Rossi's best/only chance for a tenth title, and it was robbed from him - I hope people never get over it.

F1 » Ecclestone: Female drivers wouldn’t be taken seriously

I think Bernie's point is that the women who have reached F1 have done so because they were 'women', not necessarily for their driving talent - which has led people to take them less seriously. However, should a lady come along who was 'genuinely' fast, I doubt anyone would have any issue with it, at least not in the general public, and I'm sure Bernie wouldn't either. Anna Carrasco (Moto3) is a great example of a girl racing because she deserves to be there - it drives me nuts that the commentators treat her differently to everyone else though - lines such as "wow, look at Anna go, mixing it with the boys" and "what a great result, 20th / 35 riders, fantastic".
