jdm just a point to note when 750's were in play they did not have much success against the dukes as the rules were stacked against them so the japs developed twins to play the dukes at there own game suzuki's was pretty pants but the sp1 seemed good enough and they grabbed a pretty even run championship with colin edwards. the point i'm trying to make is there are rules in place why bend them to suit ducati could have built a four to compete at the same level as the rest no need for capacity increase they seem to have a pretty awsome V4 in motogp at the min. even bayliss was on record (some time ago) saying he had no probs with 1000cc across the board run what ya brung was his words

3 disagree.
seem to remember the bsb rules being written before wsbk rules and stuart higgs saying he was dissapointed that wsbk hadnt followed the same kinda rules. He has also said that if ducati could provide engineering evidence as to why they need higher spec pistons that they would consider a dispensation but spoilt ducati haven't done this. he also said that bsb have taken advice from engineering companies which said that the stock pistons could be coated with something which would reduce friction at higher revs and therefore make them run safe so why do they need higher spec pistons????? posibly having 1200cc is not enough of an unfair advantage so they need to lose a bit more weight who knows
