Great field but.... The fact that you can not watch Superbikes at a reasonable time of the day in the USA is a direct punishment from God because you exported "American Chopper" to the UK, in fact you should be banned from seeing all bike racing untill you take it back ! :) :) :) Ps you have even exported Pinks, what ever did we do to you ? wasn't independence enough :)

Brendan, give me Whit and Jack any day, they are amusing as well as informative, The WSB rounds that were presented by Warwick Nolan were dull in comparison. just listening to Toby and Julian on Eurosport Moto GP makes my flesh creep, they are just so a*r*s*e licking towards the chosen few that it's embarassing

Easty Just remember that Dorna is owned by private equity, the sole purpose of Dorna is to make cash, they would drop Moto GP like a hot potato if their own business plans showed that it was not long term viable, Their only interest in Motor Sport is as a cash cow, if there was money to be made from a world whippet racing series Dorna would be in there like a shot ! just don:t confuse our passion for bikes with business. On the plus side there are at least 6 ZX10's racing in Superbike

I read an article the other day by the guy in charge of BMW racing. He said Moto GP focus is all about the riders not the bikes. He went on to say that BMW sell sports bikes not Rossis and Stoners :). His logic was that SBK was a better showcase for selling roadbikes. That could be true, attend any bike meet and your average 1000cc Jap rider can give you chapter and verse on his machine v Haga's Kyonari's Neukirchner's or Laconi's, where as you average Aprilia rider is much to cool ( and 40 bhp undergunned !) to do that  Perhaps Kawasaki share the BMW view?

Jon M "Kawasaki's GP team gets them on TV & in magazines, gets them talked about and gives them a centre piece at any industry show/event- not to mention racing pedigree" It also gets people to talk about how they can't win, it shows them as number 5 in a series of 5, Kwakers are not premium life style products like Duc 1198s they are pile em high sell em cheap low margin units like baked beans :). The entire world SuperSports bike market is only about 200,000 units and Kawasaki's share of that is very small. far too small to amortise 30 million squids. The purchasers of commuters, tourers, off-road etc don't even know who Hopper is, so pulling out of GP is probably very sound business

The Algarve Motor Park, was ready in 12 months including a new motorway, so logisticaly the work is possible, it just needs money and the will to succeed. lets see. To those who think that facilites are not important the F1 crowd are not going to pay a £100 to stand in the mud and use a chemical shi ** er. and more importantly why should they ?. after seeing WSB at Parc Algar, I would consider it to be superior to anything I have attended in the UK

Please gentlemen do not even speculate with buggering about with superbikes, it is already a winning formula that provides very close racing with at least 4 manufacturers all capable of putting a rider on top of the podium. the two race format is brilliant, especialy if you have paid your hard earned cash to attend a round. Also don't assume that there would be space for the "refugees", There is a lot of young talent coming through SBK now who are more than capable of kicking the **** of GP "stars" given the(more) level playing field of superbikes. The end of Moto GP could have been foreseen the first time that the series was aquired by a private equity company, money before sport sucks !

Perhaps this is just a marketing decision, Kawasaki have a loyal following of road bike buyers despite having a poor showing in MotoGp and SBK at any level. This is rather like Triumph and Aprilia who have managed to keep selling bikes to people who buy for the real world rather than following the winning-est bike of the moment. Someone will have done the sums and the cost of winning v the increase in sales volume/margin is just unattractive, so spend your money elsewhere, Moto-x , advertising, product launches and magazine column inches, lower selling prices, in fact anywhere where you can gain business, rather than pissing your cash away into a bottomless pit

I will accept that he is the G.O.A.T when I see him on top of the podium in front of the grandstand on Glencrutchery Road :-o
