I'm at least partially convinced that top riders almost need to be on different teams because, at this level, something like the chassis has to be chosen and developed by someone, and eventually there will be differences of opinion. I was saying three years ago that this was the significance of Rossi's "Lorenzo or me" comments, and still believe it. Lorenzo threw away the Rossi-developed chassis in 2011 and won on "his" last year. I don't mean this to start poo-flinging, just food for thought.

Kimi doesn't make excuses. If the setup went wrong (driver to blame here, as well) and he lost some front wing, I believe it and am willing to take this all in stride, as he does. If only other drivers talked like him on a regular basis, probably nobody would be accused of whining and excuse-making after a genuinely challenging weekend.

I'll admit I'm not the world's biggest fan of Cal, but my first reaction on reading this headline was "hey, cool!" I can only hope this is an indication of someone other than the factory riders actually having a similar pace. It probably won't last all year, but we might as well enjoy the variety while we can.

They should have a poll for bonehead of the day. Half the entertainment was waiting for the next example of the "pinnacle" of motorsport. Priceless race. Personally, I have pretty much all of Ferrari atop my dubious podium, just for nobody realizing Alonso's car was definitely unsafe, illegal, or just unfit to continue on track.

This race was almost a complete comedy of errors with this and the other debacles in the pits, etc. Welcome to F1, the pinnacle of motor racing, lol.

At least he only sustained minor damage and won't be out a significant amount of time. I think all of us who pay attention know Vinales has every chance at the title this year, and something like this probably won't make too much of dent in his pace.

Even as a huge fan, I don't think Rossi will quite have the pace all season to mount a real title challenge against Pedro and J-Lo, both of whom are now firmly ensconced in their respective teams, and have shown they can develop a bike effectively. I do, however, see him winning a couple of races considering how close he is at the moment. Fingers crossed.
