F1 » Button worried by lack of McLaren pace

Bob, in 2010, Lewis finished 5th after being punted around by an out of control Mark Webber. In 2009 he finished 3rd after fairly passing Trulli who'd ran off the track behind the safety car. He asked whether to give the position back, which he duly did. However, he was later disqualified for teliing the FIA that Trulli passed him unfairly. However, he was told to tell this lie by a senior McLaren team member, who was later dismissed over what he'd told Hamilton to say......

F1 » Pre-season boost as Hamilton beats Vettel

The thing is, they're all driving one of a couple of Suzukis, probably prepared exactly the same, so differences in the car can be ignored. This surely is a fantastic measure of a drivers ability, it's it not? Richard,I didn't hear Rubens complaining about his steering wheel being on the wrong side either. Also, with the gaps between the drivers being little more than a couple of tenths, I would say a gap of over a second IS significant. Lewis went from near the back of the grid to third (before he was disqualified, but still passed Trulli fair and square as he was off the track) in Aus '09, so I expect Lewis to surprise a lot of his dislikers this year

He's ready alright. Has a better racecraft than Marquez, that's for sure. Marc is a danger to all around him, and though I don't dispute his obvious talent, he's dangerous. Herve wanted Brad on the bike this year, but he realised he needed another year before he moved up, or have you lot forgot that?

F1 » Hamilton claims Hungarian GP pole

you must be going back more than the 35+ years I've been watching F1 Richard. Pole has always been considerably quicker than race pace, and unless something happens to the car, if a car is on pole it's generally up there in the race too. I understand what you're saying, but the tyres aren't making a car on pole finish out of the top three, generally speaking, is something else, such as a botched pit stop or an accident. I agree Lewis is unlikely to have 4/10ths on everyone every lap, but if he has a trouble free races,I can't see anyone keeping with him (think Vettel at Valencia, of it wasn't for the pace car and subsequent breakdown, he'd have won by miles).

F1 » Hamilton claims Hungarian GP pole

I love how people say someone is quick in practice, they'll say "doesn't mean anything, it's just practice." When the same driver is quicker than anyone in qualifying, they'll say "doesn't matter, you don't get any points for qualifying." While that is true, they don't say it about THEIR favoured driver when they're quickest. Well done Lewis for absolutely blowing everyone away for as big a gap as anyone has in the dry. Let's hope McLaren can keep the good work up in the pit stops and not undo all the hard work Lewis has put in so far, giving the team their 150th pole position.

F1 » Hamilton wins Canadian Grand Prix

Fantastic race and a well deserved win from Lewis.Shame Jens couldn't make the car work and another weekend to forget for the driver "who manages his tyres better than Lewis." REALLY, since when??? Seb showed the advantage of pitting so late, and showed Ferrari up for the fools they were. Great job too by Romain and Sergio and heir respective teams. At least this will make RGB happy and TY spit out his tea!!!lol!!!

F1 » Hamilton takes Australian GP pole

Well I see the Hamilton Haters (tm) just can't help themselves. If he'd had a qualifying like Alonso or Vettel (not he he qualified badly, of course, just not dominant like last year), they'd have been out of the woodwork at 0701 GMT to slag him off. I agree that one qualifying session means little beyond Hamilton did a better job tha Button in the same car and McLaren (it's amazing how many of you can't spell that.....) have a very quick car this year. But still they struggle to give credit where credit's due (tealeaf excepted) Tomorrow is another day and I hope it's a McLaren 1-2, but don't care which one wins.
