Phil, people said after some of his overtaking moves (mainly the one on Kimi at Monza)last season that he wouldn't be doing it again this year. Proved all those nay-sayers wrong didn't he?
What's wrong with being aggressive, didn't do a certain Ayrton Senna or Micheal Schumacher any harm, did it? How does that saying go? If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen, Robert!

I'm sure that if he was to leave the sport it would be a lot less exiting without him. He certainly went down in my estimation with the whole episode, but the way he has performed on the track since has restored my beleif in him. McLaren have been struggling just as much as Ferrari, but only one of the four drivers from these teams seems to be picking the car up by the scruff of it's neck and doing things they shouldn't be able to. Hell Felipe even looked like the driver he was at Singapore last year yesterday. Congrats to Kimi for actually looking like he's prepared to make an effort on track!!

Now if you care to check past posts you'll see I'm oe of Lewis' biggest advocates, I'll stand up for him almost no matter what. But on this issue I agree 100% with the FIA. Chances are (having just watched the real-time radio/video shown on BBC's qualifying coverage) that Lewis WOULD have been given 3rd and Trulli demoted to 4th. There was absolutely NO NEED for McLaren/Hamilton to try and mislead the stewards. I wouldn't go as far as the Hamilton Haters(tm) have and say he should be banned or whatever, and wouldn't agree with the Hamilton fanboys and say this just shows how much the FIA are biased against Hamilton/McLaren. I see it as an open and shut case, please, let's move on.

I agree that this new system sucks BIG time, but think about it this way:- From the start of the season, those drivers who are able to are going to have to drive 100% to get that race win that'll count at the year's end. I imagine that we'll be treated to more 'do or die' racing than we have for years. How likely is it that one car is going to be dominant? And so what if there is?-look at Ferrari-2 equally matched drivers and only one can win the championship! There'll be racing galore! Like I said I don't agree with it, but let's look at the positives.

I find it hard to believe the Brawn GP car's pace is genuine. I remember in 2001 at the last pre-season test the Prost was loads faster than everyone else, and look how much of a dog that was! I also don't think McLaren could be sandbagging. With the very limited testing time available, what good will driving deliberately slowly be? I hope I'm proved wrong in a couple of week's time!

STR do not build the monocoque, it's made by Red Bull Technologies and is the same as the RB5. Everything else however is made'in house' by Toro Rosso.

Joe, the chassis are the same as they both come from Red Bull Technologies, built to the same dimensions. They are then prepared by the relevant team to fit the relavent engine, so that's what makes the cars different.

To see what is comon between the RB5 and STR4, see this month's F1Racing magazine. Also it tells you of the difficulties Force India faced to redesign the car after the McLaren partnership was announced.

Just looked to see how fast the car was running at the Barcelona test 17-19th November and by the end of the test, it was faster than all of the teams not obviuosly running full 2008 cars (ie the 2 Red Bull teams). I'd have thought to be THAT fast they certainly weren't running any or much of the 2008 car. Shame things conspired against them as they did. EDIT. It was a modified RA108 with 2009 aerodynamics and slick tyres that Button, Senna and Di Grassi were running at that test. Never said anything about KERS though.

But Rich ard, Renault only started winning races and being generally more competitive after the FIA had allowed them to make changes to their engine to bring their power up to parity of the others. Obviously they'd made good advances on the chassis side of things too, but I'd say it was mostly engine. I agree with you about the lack of testing. They're gonna be screwed when the testing ban comes in after the season starts, unless the FIA make an exception for them given the circumstances. It was widely thought they'd have a competitive car this year, the lack of testing MIGHT not be such a disadvantage. How did the car do in the test they did appear in?

This whole story has really made my past couple of days. I'll still watch the Main Event live, as the BBC team (IMO) isn't as bad as most make out, but at least I'll be able to get most of the insight the Eurosport team bring you every weekend. That's what I'D have missed had Jules and Toby not been commentating.
