F1's always been about a combination of having the best car and driver skill. Barichello's a multiple GP winner and might (?) have had a shot at a title or two were he not playing number two to Schumi for years. Button's been unlucky with the cars he's had, but he's taking the opportunity now he's got it - in my opinion, they're both great drivers, as is Alonso and look how he's going now his car's not so good.

And would he care to explain Red Bull? No diffuser there and they're kicking his **** all over. This year's Renault is a dog - less moaning and more engineering your way to a good car sounds like a good use of time to me...

Not sure if this has already been mentioned (10 pages!), but it's the mid-season break for MotoGP - get Rossi in!

Undoubtedly bad news for Mika and I hope he gets well soon, but...I really can't see the sense in not running the second bike. As other posters have already said, extra dev work wouldn't go a miss and there's plenty of riders who'd jump at the chance to have a go, not least Chaz - he was posting some impressive lap times by the end of his stand-in ride.

Cavaliers and Carinas were pretty boring road cars, but that didn't seem to harm the racing. Exhibit A, your honour...(seems I can't post links, so Google 'btcc finale 1992 youtube' and see what you get)

The size of the cars currently isn't what's wrong, it's the fact they bear less and less resemblance to showroom models with each passing year - the closer a car is to standard, the cheaper it should be to race. I know people bang on about it, but the days of Cleland, Hoy, Harvey et al were great - maybe stick to 2 litre n/a? How many major manufacturers have a 2 litre turbo petrol in their model line up? Vauxhall and VAG spring to mind, but beyond that? It'd be good to see as many manufacturers as possible taking part and not go down the two-horse Aussie or DTM routes (though kudos to the Germans for getting more women on the grid)

I know there have been times in the past that Simoncelli's been a bit wild, but this looked very much like a 'racing incident' from where I was watching. Simoncelli had gone in hot, but not crazy-hot and Bautista lent on top of him. Clearly they're not the best of friends and for Team Aspar not to have lodged an appeal I think says a lot on this one.

@yzfstu It'd be great to see Nori on the bike as a reward if he wins WSBK (like they did for Troy), especially in full 'brain out' mode. Good luck to Nicky too, he deserves a bit of a break.

It's a good start, but how about getting rid of pit stops altogether (unless changing to a different type of tyre ie. wets/inters)? A full race on one set of tyres tends to make the last few laps interesting too...

I particularly like the fact that Flav's doing all this in a gallant, selfless bid to save the tattered reputation of F1 as though backbiting and courtroom battles are the only way to save any hint of dignity...

I'd love to see Harris winning again and best of luck to him - he's an exciting rider and seems a nice guy. But I reckon it's between Ellison and Guintoli...
