True, we have heard it before, but how many of those guys came in their rookie year, set the record for poles in a row, and dominated so much? Oh, and on tracks they had never seen before?

Ben certainly made for a welcoming teammate next year by helping Edwards get 5th in the championship. Good passing out there from Ben, Nicky, and Colin. Randy sure went backwards fast.

I don't think the reason Nicky is happy to see Stoner back is to copy his settings. It seems in the weekends Stoner was absent, Nicky did quite well. The DNF wasn't his fault, he was running well into the top 10 when Elias torpedoed the pack. It won't help his finishing order if Stoner is on the pace though, as what was 5th now becomes 6th, but I think he'll continue to improve the rest of the season.

aeolus: That yates crash also potentially cost Eric Bostrom the title that year,he was leading the championship at that point, but after he was back from injury he was out of it. Yates should have been kicked out of the AMA years ago. That incident, the laying down on the track to force a red flag, and drop kicking another racer are all examples of his stupidity.

Morge, I think Ducati has done a reasonable job of trying to help Nicky. They changed his crew chief and seem to be listening to his feedback. The results seem to indicate it's working too, as he has been steadily improving. oops/soops, I don't think Nicky is doing a contract time one-off like Elias and De-Angelis. Nicky has been steadily improving a hard to ride bike for several rounds. Elias did a one off, and De-angelis only improved once it was clear at least one of the two of them at Gresini were losing their ride.

good quali, no one had anything for pedro the whole session though. jorge led a bit, but it was just when pedro was in the pits. Good job by Nicky, top ducati by a lot, still improving. And no, there is no home track advantage here, he's only raced indy once, just like everyone else.

Could this be the first big name rider to skip Ducati due to the Non-Stoner curse? Riders might be seeing everyone other then Stoner on the Ducati GP bike struggling, and deciding to not risk their careers. That said, Suzuki's bike won't get you much better results then the other Ducati riders, but at least you won't have one guy on the same bike out-shining you week after week.

I guess I see the logic behing the rookie rule, it gives the satellite teams a chance to field big name rookies and elevate their position. At the same time though, I think the rule is stupid. MotoGP does seem to be going more like F1, which is a bad thing. I love F1, but it is way too regulated.

Get well soon Massa. The problem with having a windscreen on the front is then you would need some way to clean it as it fills up with dirt, bugs, or water. Adding wipers to a F1 car would be a challenge in itself. The other option of a fully enclosed cockpit with a full windshield, roof, and wipers would not really be F1 anymore in my opinion. It also adds problems as F1 cars are not too easy to get out of as it is. Adding a roof to it would make it very hard to get yourself out in the event of a fire.
