F1 » Ecclestone calls for more double points races

years ago I remember BE scoffing at the Indycar racing format and saying that F1 was about technology and pure racing and there was no place for razzamatazz and artificial racing !!!! And then the idiot is proposing a points system that should generate teams trying harder with development till seasons end when in fact if ANY team has a runaway season ahead of all the other teams there will be even less reason for them to keep pushing surely ..... I can't be ar5ed but has anyone done the math to see how last season would have finished using his last race and last 3 race double points proposal would have looked ?!!!

F1 » Irvine: Hamilton went 'too showbiz'

sorry I agree with the eagle, Schumacher helped the team win the constructors but didn't help Irvine, If he had been helping Irvine he would have dropped back to let Irvine take 2nd in Japan even tho he was nearly a minute behind, Schumacher was out of contention and Ferrari would have still had a 2nd and 3rd in the race, Ferrari were never going to make the phone call and I doubt MS would have listened anyway, Ferrari hadn't won a drivers title since Scheckter ( i think ) and no way would they have allowed the no.2 driver to take the title before the highly paid no.1 .......... end of

F1 » Lauda willed Hamilton DNF in Singapore

@ Richard, sorry just another quickie I wanted to point out to you, Rosberg is settled in the team and has helped develop the car over several seasons, Brawn has also said in an article I read that Hamilton is driving a car he hasn't developed, so next year we may OR may not see him in a car more suited to his style and challenging Nico we'll have to wait and see, and you did say arguably, he had 5 retirements in 2012 ( not all of his own making if I recall ) so he would have finished higher, and in 2011 when he was out-pointed by Jensen he drove like a prat all season long so didn't deserve a higher finish quite honestly .... Don't know why my posts have no tick boxes along the bottom !!!

@ Richard, some more stats you may find useful... you know the ones, only any use if they work in your favour goes Schumacher 2010 72 pts total, 9th in the wdc best finish 4th 2011 76 pts total, 8th in the wdc best finish 4th 2012 49pts total, 13th in the wdc best finish 3rd = 197 pts total over the 3 yrs Rosberg 2010 142 pts total 7th in the wdc best finish 3rd 2011 89 pts total, 7th in the wdc best finish 5th 2012 93 pts total 9th in the wdc best finish 1st = 324 pts total over the 3 yrs Schumacher didn't do as well as Rosberg in ANY year....fact and this is a statistic that's REALLY going to get you going I reckon Hamilton 1st year at Mercedes.... best finish 1st AND ONLY EIGHT POINTS LESS than Schumacher took 3 years to get !!! bet you're impressed
