didn't read whole thread now (i will do now) - but number6 is right sunday MW was an idiot - even gerhard berger called him that today in a great 'F1 talk' (on Servus TV) this stunt was absolutly not necessary ... but also sky germany comentator did say the same as MW "this stunt you can only do with FA" by the way i'm a big MW fan ... greetings from salzburg

F1 » Horner downplays diffuser rule change

the rule change only changes behavior of the car from breaking - up to the apex of the next corner. For the rest of the lap those engines still blow a lot of air when on medium or full throttle. the problem of loss of downforce during breaking can be helped a bit by left breaking and staying on throttle with the right (maybe some changings in clutch or gearchange timing will be nessesary) so its up to driver skills. so the loss is really "only" (yes it's maybe the most important part) when going into the corner. i bet RBR will lose least of all teams using that system ...

F1 » Possible lifeline for V8 engines

i can not follow that one. the 1,6T will be from the "worldengine" plattform, so it will be an engine quite similary to the engines WRC and WTCC/BTCC are using - so that manufactures (ford-wrc, citroen-wrc, GM-WTCC, Mini (BMW-WRC), Seat(VW-wtcc), VW-wrc from2013) will build that engine anyway. so i think the manufactures actually not running in F1 all will be very happy with those new rules, the manufactures (renault, mercedes, ferrari, cosworth(?)) will not like it! so what is better meeting with newones or keeping the old ones .... Worldengine is defenitly the FIA wants to go, F1 is part of FIA - so FIA also wants F1 to use "their" engine greetings

manufactures will love the 1.6l turbos .. they already use the worldengine in WTTC and WRC - same specs. GM, Ford, Citroen, bmw (mini cooper) already use it, VW just builds it for WTCC/BTCC's Seats. the old diesel's are not competitve anymore against the 1.6turbos (eveybody who whatched Monza last weekend knows what i mean) greetings greetings

fast degration is good - but maybe they've gone a bit to far with it (lets see 2012 tires..) but they messed it up between hard and soft. hard can and should be a bit slower, but should defenetly also hold longer! that is not the case with the pirelly - on some cars the soft even runs longer than the hard one. so i only can partly agree with gasconye (but still getting rid of bridgestone was the best - better again would be a second supllier - but without testing not possible)

F1 » Parr: New engines will be good for F1

finally they will have to use fia's world engine (1.6l turbo)this year already used in WTCC and WRC those to series even have almost the same homologation rules so one manufacturer easly can use his cars (parts of the cars - eg driveshaft..) in the other series FIA defenitly wants this engine also used in F1 (this is really rediculus!!) powered up maybe through twin instead of single turbo and naturally with a strong kers system. .... not good for F1 greetings
