A big surprise considering his 'team mate' is a novice in this league. It sends a clear signal to the old order that Honda want results, one can only assume that Dani Pedrosa will be next, all that time & money and not much to show for it and the new boys on the block are getting up to speed pretty quick.

Gyroscopic failure? wrong tread pattern? power bands overtightened? rookie mistake? Class of his own - class dunce! Imagine what this column would look like if Vale had done the same thing.

Here's a thing, a new project manager at Honda, at last they must finally be preparing to give Pedrosa and his loud mouth manager the push. With Puig having so much say about the way things are done they wouldn't need Suppo would they? Well he's in and time will tell. With 2 mechanics from Yamaha and a Ducati man on board they are certainly going to be a mixed bunch next year, let's hope it helps HRC change direction for the better.

OK, conspiricy theorists, try this one on for size. Suppo didn't get along with Rossi, Guareschi gets along really well with Rossi. Rossi has one more year on his Yamaha contract. Get it?

Love you JT, but Spies is gonna kick your **** in Valencia. You're too methodical and he has nothing to prove. But...JT & Ben Spies in the 8 Hour, that would be cool!

GO FOR IT MAX! I got pranged 5 weeks ago and the doctors told me it would take 9 months to recover, I told them 9 weeks and they laughed, 5 weeks on and I'm walking. Max is the best person to assess when he'll be fit, he knows what his body is capable of and he has a racers mentality, why give up because it's the end of the season, get out there and show them what you can do.

Vito is a business man not a racer, I doubt he has the slightest idea how a racers mind works. some of the comments on here are spot on "cold corporate hand" "re-election time" Well Vito, my advice is this, take a look at how politics has ruined F1, don't make threats to the riders because they have choices, other championships. You change the rules every year and this is what you have made, competetive racing, why act so surprised? it's your rules they race to.

bhebe626 - could you re-arrange your last comment and make it coherent? didn't understand a word of it although I'm sure it's very profound.

Well hoorah for Honda, how on earth did Pedrosas loud mouth manager manage to get him anywhere near a sniff of a 2 year contract? He hasn't won anything like enough races to justify keeping his place and there is no end of up & coming talent out there to relegate him to a lesser team. He's got great sponsorship and a big fan base but he can't develope a bike the way Rossi or Dohan could. Doohan took over from Gardiner when it became obvious he was the better rider and the team never looked back - perhaps we could see Dovi in the No1 seat soon! Hayden won a world title with Honda, wasn't classiest of rides but he's in the history books and Honda still gave him the elbow, look out Dani!

Just a quick reply to lorenzo limioni the homophobe, yes mate history will tell a different story when it comes to recording the exploites of Rossi, because he is still making it, still recording new records and achieving the things that a single armchair jockey can never do. whoever takes his mantle will make history too, just not yet and whoever that may be he will have a better manager than you, after all - why sit at home handling yourself?

Not really illness' that should affect a fit young man like Casey - he'll race on, lose some more and find some more excuses.
