RECOMMENDED COMMENT
20 agree.
2 disagree.
The comments saying Casey is a one hit wonder because he hasn't won in the lesser categories are simply foolish.
As are the TC comments - ignorant at best.
Casey was always right with Pedrosa - who always had the best bike in the field.
Stoner did exceptionally well considering he never had a competitive bike until 2007.
Remember he put the LCR on pole in his second race, and very nearly won his third race.
Rossi is arguably the greatest rider ever and Stoner - to this point - is the only rider that can take the fight to him.
Last year it was Rossi keeping up with an inferior bike and this year Casey is doing just that.
Anyone who states Rossi is past it or Stoner never had it is a tool.

Same circuit, different story for Rossi.
1 agrees.
I hear you on the twisties! Unfortunately my favourite stretch of tarmac has been so heavily policed over the last year or so it's not worth going there anymore... Motorcyclists are like an extended family, always willing to do whatever it takes to help a fellow rider out. Such a thing is rare in today's society.... but i have noticed the nod is few and far between nowdays... As for the fanboys, i think many of them have only ridden a keyboard judging by some of the stuff i've read on here...

Cheers Oscar. Love ya work! I thought JB was an ex racer, but didn't know he rode an RG500! he must have been nuts... those things were like riding a wild bronco with a thorn in each hoof!

Didn't see the interview you mentioned Oscar but if it's online i'd love a link. That does sound very much like Doohan, lol. He was a hard and determined racer. And in Rossi's book he mentions his high regard for JB's approach to set up and problem solving. From JB's comments about Rossi i'd say they have the utmost respect for each other and a great working relationship. It'd have to help that they're both nice guys and easy to get along with... Doohan i'd imagine could get a bit testy at times. Not too sure but isn't JB an ex racer himself of some sort?

Oscar JB also won a title - his first - with Spencer in the mid eighties... that makes 12 WC's. And Marc it was conditional for Rossi's switch to Yamaha that he took JB and his crew with him. If they didn't go with him Rossi wasn't going to Yamaha. Rossi is undeniably great but he understands the value of his team.

Five options to slow down MotoGP.
2 agree.
If it is about safety then i don't think reducing corner speeds is necessarily the answer. The circuits need to be addressed if it is truly about the safety aspect. If it is about closer racing then several of the suggested measures would help in the short term, but it's only a matter of time before a pecking order is restored. it's the nature of the beast that more money thrown into development will create a performance gap. Unless it is a one make series then there will always be disparity and MotoGP is prototype racing. It's about the bikes first and foremost and not every rider finishing together. There are other classes for that.

Brno - Race results.
well we were robbed of a great battle... the last few laps would have been fiesty! Vale was catching though and i think he had Casey's measure anyway... It looked to me that when Casey got off the brakes and onto the throttle the weight shifted off the front end and it folded on him... i guess he found the limit on that corner. I'd say the championship is all but over now. Number 6 in the top class for Rossi. And congrats to him. He is certainly one of the greats on two wheels. Times have certainly changed for Michelin...

MotoGP 'corner safety' discussed at Brno.
1 disagrees.
cheech there is no lacking on my knowledge base, all my posts are thought through thanks. i didn't say the electronics are the same. but the electronics didn't go from zero to hero in one year as you suggest. electronics - like tyres and everything else is a slow progression. It didn't suddenly make a huge leap forward. a single ECU won't change much at the front just as it hasn't changed much in F1. it takes a whole lot more than just twisting the throttle to make a fast lap time. and i never said there'd be no development with one tyre supplier. i said there'll be less competition. competition and development is what any premier class is about - and this IS motoGP not superbike.

Oh yeah the 990's didn't have electronics, then they went to 800's and suddenly the elctronics control the whole bike.... who's the idiot? No matter what tyres they're on it'll be the same riders at the front. Competition is the spirit of racing. One tyre supplied reduces the competition.
