RECOMMENDED COMMENT
20 agree.
2 disagree.
The comments saying Casey is a one hit wonder because he hasn't won in the lesser categories are simply foolish.
As are the TC comments - ignorant at best.
Casey was always right with Pedrosa - who always had the best bike in the field.
Stoner did exceptionally well considering he never had a competitive bike until 2007.
Remember he put the LCR on pole in his second race, and very nearly won his third race.
Rossi is arguably the greatest rider ever and Stoner - to this point - is the only rider that can take the fight to him.
Last year it was Rossi keeping up with an inferior bike and this year Casey is doing just that.
Anyone who states Rossi is past it or Stoner never had it is a tool.

Laguna Seca - Free practice times (2).
1 agrees.
Jimmy the only time Rossi rode without electronics was in the 125 and 250 class. The 500 had it as did the RC211V. And the key piece to Casey's package is the rider - without the Stoner part of the package the Duke is at the back. Rossi is statistically the best - no body can successfully argue otherwise. But he is currently getting pushed by the new blood like never before. If I were a racer nothing would please me more than to beat Rossi - who so many proclaim to be the GOAT. Old school racing is always remembered with fondness... but give me the fastest bikes to watch anyday. You put one of the 990's on the track in an 800 race and it will look very second rate indeed.

Guintoli sixth without traction control!

Marc you're illustrating your total lack of knowledge once again. You will never find your answer because you seek it in the wrong places. By all means ban TC but it will change very little come race day. You throw the word fanboy around... have you heard the word hater?

Rossi: We must stop Stoner.
11 agree.
2 disagree.
Rossi doesn't hold the mental advantage he had over previous riders. If he can win this year's WC then i'd put it up there as his best yet. He's got his work cut out to stop Stoner though - he is ON FIRE! He's doing some very nice stand up wheelie's over the finish line too!

Sachsenring - Free practice times (2).
As for TC - i've heard people saying "i went to the X-GP and Caseys bike was spluttering more than the others.... he must be using more TC!" Well i put it to them that Casey is the only one pushing that bike to the enth in order to make the TC kick in like that. TC is designed to allow wheel spin (ideal traction = about 10% wheelspin) so it only interferes when the bike is pushed beyond it's limitations. It suggests to me that he is able to ride it faster than it can phisically tolerate. They all use TC - only a few have the balls to push it to the limit.

could be Andy... but i reckon Casey just has dogged determination and would still push for no bonus. Every lap he does - even the in and out laps are flat out pushing so he can refine his set up. I read an interview with his dad saying about how they would drive all the way to Perth for Casey to compete, he'd get there and get i think it was two laps practice to set up for the race, and then race (dirt track). Casey's dad said this has led him to be fastidious about using every single opportunity to work on his set up and try and squeeze a few extra hundreths out of his lap times.

Ducati praise Stoner 'perfection'.
12 agree.
1 disagrees.
John Spoonmore Rossi crashed just as often in his first 500cc season. Rossi himself has said it's possible for a fast rider to stop crashing, but not for a mediocre rider to go fast. Stoner has always been fast. This debate has been covered 100 times already. And in a wet race like that all the electronics are turned down significantly from a dry set up. The on board footage from Casey's bike showed it spinning out of every corner. In a wet race like that it's all about throttle control. Too much TC cutting in will slow you down dramatically. The slipper clutches would have more effect on performance in the wet than TC.

Sachsenring - Race results.

i agree Jack. Danni was a sensation in those conditions. That said in those conditions you need to keep a 'buffer zone' and he was obviously pushing it too far. If we get another wet event it could put a dent in Pedro's confidence.

grumpy get over it. We know Rossi rode well - he nearly always does. Every time he upped the anti Casey had an answer for him though. If Vale started on the front row the results may not have been any different. Casey had his measure. btw. to all those that claim Casey can only ride because of TC... did you listen to his bike? it was spinning it up like crazy.... in the wet the field is levelled - and Casey and Rossi still came out on top. they are the best of the best.

Watching the worlds best riders pushing the worlds fastest motorcycles is never boring - the twitching, bucking, sliding, and wrestling these knife edged machines is anything but boring. I think the majority of those complaining have no understanding of what these riders are doing on these bikes. this is the closest/best championship we've had in well over a decade. Not since Rainey, Doohan and Schwantz have we had three riders swapping podiums each weekend. To all those that want to see an overtake at every corner go watch speedway or something - there are plenty of "equal machinery categories" and we're all sick of your complaining.

Stoner vs. Stoner, sympathy for Rossi.
3 agree.
Stoner would win races on either the Fiat Yamaha or the Repsol Honda. Time will tell all.
