If the Michelins turn out to be the tyre for this year Hayden is the STRONGEST for the title. He's up against Danni, his only real threat riding Michelins and all the new boys from 250 and Wsbk. I really would like to see Hayden as Champion again as he still has faith and never gives up hope. It was Hayden who kept a cool head at Vallencia '06 with points BEHIND Vale to take a great 3rd place and wear the crown.
His only threat is from Casey who looks like he's going to destroy everyone again judging by the testing times. I know tests don't win Championships but it looks too likely again this year.

Ace, long time no post from me. This thread is the reason why I NOW AVOID posting on this forum. What started out as "This Monkey pretended to be Valentino" turned into "Aussies and everyone that doesn't follow the G.O.A.T (Big joke in my book, but we aren't allowed an oppinion that disagrees with Morgue etc) was followed up with the the first reply from said poster as "It was Marty". If you throw bait in on a thread, you Ace are called an Aussie chump, when Morgue throws it in because he has his followers of "Good one champy Morgy!" following suit it is deemed acceptable. Avoid this place Ace, it's just pro Vale.

Hayden focused on reclaiming #1.

Saran, what you have written isn't fair or sporting. Last year the Rcv wasn't a bike that anyone could ride and it seemed it was set up by John Koccinski with a front end bias only Max Biaggi would enjoy. It wasn't only Nicky complaining about the Honda. Nicky got punted off twice and lobbed it himself and had those terrible french tyres that didn't work in places. You CANNOT win at this level if anything prevents 10ths of seconds to be gained on anyone around you. If your complaints of Nicky being poo poo and he should have delivered the goods again, then what of Vale? He had a poor year too and EVERYONE seems happy to accept his failings were the bike.

The other problem Alex had which Danny suffers from too is the fact that some Spaniards when having to speak English do so like they are reading an autocue system and people mistake them for havong no pesonality. I'm sure if I was forced to speak Spanish to a Spanish audience they would laugh as the French I speak to on Snoboarding holidays crack up with laughter at my attempts of their native tongue!

Fernando, nice to see someone supporting Spanish riders. BUT Kenny Jr pushed Mick Doohan into a silly Qualifying accident as Mick was trying to squeeze Kenny as Jr had the lead in the championship upto Jerez. Honda then sorted out the drive at the bottom end of the NSR and Criville took the '99 belt. The XR89 Rgv500 that Kenny took the title in 2000 on was a dog. No-one but Kenny or Mick would have got that thing to take the Championship. I'm also suprised that with you being a Spaniard you wouldn't have known about the medical problem Alex was suffering from that forced him to retire? Alex was only set free to turn the Nsr500 into "his" toy after the Australian Champ with an Australian

'Bad day' but Lorenzo steals the spotlight.

Why all the fuss about the speed of the Ducati? If Ducati can engineer every last ounce from that 800, why cant the Japanese? How can Ducati while playing within the rules design, build and then let the electronic engineers produce a FEARSOME weapon that allows Casey to get on the drive exiting corners and slay the opposition down the straights? The first on the exit drive will hit top speed first. To finish first, first you have to finish and Casey seems to know how to push his beast to the limit. If last years drubbing by Casey is down to machine advantage rather than skill then the Valentino years were too. I'm sure Ducati would like 2 Factory bikes at the front, not just Casey's

Sponsorship is everything in sport. Take a good look at the bellypan on the side of a bike and unless it's on freezeframe you would struggle to make out half of the stickers that have been put on it. Do the teams need the money? Yes. The main problem with riders contracts is "just how much space on my leathers do I get?" to line my pockets with. Why is the racing televised? All because this is a money making machine that keeps people sat infront of the biggest salesperson you let in the house. It could all be raced behind closed doors with just the manufactures watching for THEIR own benefit. Money is an evil that you can succeed in life with, it's not hand in hand with happiness.

Hopefully another good test will take place and there doesn't seem to be any problems with the two teamates...YET. Lets hope not anyway. Max is a focussed character and ELJ666, your post ref Max and your son was heartwarming and proves that when he isn't concentrating on his job in hand he can be a real nice person. But, when it isn't going right he can be a bit blunt!
