So polarised, so inaccurate.
(Am I the only one thinking the postings always dip during school holidays)?

Look. You might or might not like who they are or what they say but get real.
Rossi is a gifted rider.
Stoner is a gifted rider.
They're both slightly in each other's heads. But nether of them are particularly susceptible to having mind games pulled on them.
They're both on immensely fast well matched machines with different strengths and weaknesses.
This is a good thing. It *might* mean we're going to see Moto GP escape from becoming the F1 procession which would ruin it for ever. I won't bet on that quite yet, but I'll hope its so.

Woah Dan you can't have it both ways :-) (i) Agreed Rutter is an excellent rider - But since he left HM Plant which prioritised Kiyo (and Rutter spend a fair amount of time helping Kiyo too) he hasn't been on the most competitive machinery, plus he's carried more than his share of injuries. (ii) IF it was the Bike he'd have been on the podium since the start of the season. I'm not so sure his bike is quite on a par with Airwaves'. A big part of the reason he did well last week was a bold, canny tyre choice. That said, bit or a non-sequiteur for 'im to argue the rules worked well for ages so they shouldn't have been changed .... If they hadn't been changed then no 1098s. .. I wonder?

Joking aside its probably true that Sete is quite sort of sensitive and susceptible to Rossi's subtle psychological tricks whilst Casey, well he's Australian and probably wouldn't actually notice :-)

Dear Mrs P Please explain to your son that 'Back to back' was meant idiomatically. Also when we said 'put your back into it' we didn't actually mean.... pp Yamano san

1 second gap eked out every 100 km? Kagy seems to have the hang of Suzuka so he *must* be pacing himself well there. Wonder why he comes adrift so often in WSB?

6mbt9 - No one manufacturer does. Anyone with a vee twin would be allowed a more displacement than a 4. You might be right if you wanted to modify the argument Ducati have been allowed too much advantage with 200cc. But as Sick Cylinder's pointed out its more complex than outright power - usability matters too. BTW Thanks Sick Cylinder for pointing out there's a dead obvious solution for BSB teams wanting a WSB wildcard. I must be 'thinking inside boxes' Doh!

Catch 22 innit? If they turn Marco loose on the GP9 to do the development work chances are it ain''t gonna suit Casey Stoner who obviously has a hugely different riding style. Against that, tho going down that path means doing two sets of development work, the reality is they''ll probably have to do that anyway unless they plan to ditch Marco - which they''d probably on balance prefer not to do.

The point really is that it might be rather good idea to give it one of the satelite teams, Dovi, De Angelis whichever. The other point is HRC are more likely to keep wheeling Taddy out than contemplate doing that. Come to think of it tho, I'd rather enjoy seeing what he made of it if they gave Taddy the chance to get properly into the current Moto GP rhythm – He’s still looks to be a pretty good rider.

The *real* problem is not whether there should or shouldn't be a weight penalty on the Ducatis - Its that its unfair to spring a change of the sort onto *any* team without discussion, without notice, without reasonable time for preparation. NW200s bike may well be safe with the extra weight. But the Airwaves bikes don't have access to his data/settings. I won't blame them if they do pull out. I'll lay the blame where it belongs - with BSB's organisers. This year has been appalling. What's going to be their next bright idea? Drill holes in the Ducatis' pistons to ensure they blow up too because they didn't think the con rod rules through? (The root cause of Grinner's blown motor).

You can hardly say its like WSBK Tom - The antics some of their riders get away with is incredible - Checa on Neukirchener was worse than Haslam on Sykes.
