If he was to go, who would fill his shoes? God save us from F1 being run by a committee. Old saying: Beware of what you wish for, in case it comes to pass. Was it a bribe? I don't know - no definitive evidence was offered as far as I am aware. And even if that was the case, it's hardly a significant amount when you look at such as BAE and the Saudi Arms deal in the 80' that was some serious stuff.

Saxo Bank sponsors the pro cycling team owned by Bjarne Riis, with Alberto Contador (Clenbutador) as leader - both confirmed and unrepentant drug cheats. And to whoever disagreed - these are facts, in the public domain. Contador was banned for taking Clenbuterol, and Riis admitted to using EPO to win his one TdF, although refused to show any contrition.

F1 is (finally) realising that it's economies are not immune to the rest of the world's troubles. However, if F1 is to continue as the pinnacle of engineering excellence, then you cannot adopt the "bean-counter" mentality and simply place a limit on spending. So the more sponsorship they get, the more there is to spend - it may seem unfair - but then life IS unfair. Deal with it.
