F1 » Red Bull to appeal Ricciardo exclusion

1) If the fuel system is flowing fuel at a higher rate than allowed, then the engine is able to produce more power. Fact. 2) Irrespective of what RBR think, the FIA homologated sensor is the unit of record. Fact. How they think they can appeal a decision based on these facts is "interesting" - if they actually do appeal, that is. Personally, I think the rule is unnecessary, however opinion of a rule is irrelevant if you are caught breaking it.

F1 » Ecclestone warns quieter F1 could be costly

The 1.5L T/C engines used back in the 80's produced great sounds - I remember standing at Surtees, just where the GP circuit heads out into the country at Brands for the European GP - just as Senna was mugged by Rosberg and Mansell - the noise level was above my pain threshold as they all three flashed past - so re-tuning the exhaust is perfectly possible (and likely for 2015, if the complaints continue).

F1 » Ecclestone responds to NASCAR criticism

Last year's criticism was that a college football (American) was scheduled for the same weekend (in Austin itself). But COTA are right - Nascar fans are a completely different group to F1 - and that's not to denigrate either. Ecclestone's comment, though, was a rather clever "put down". Listening to some of the rubbish spouted by promoters over here for their sports, you'd think that the world begins and ends on the Atlantic and Pacific shores.

F1 » Kate Walker: The implications for Ecclestone

If he was to go, who would fill his shoes? God save us from F1 being run by a committee. Old saying: Beware of what you wish for, in case it comes to pass. Was it a bribe? I don't know - no definitive evidence was offered as far as I am aware. And even if that was the case, it's hardly a significant amount when you look at such as BAE and the Saudi Arms deal in the 80' that was some serious stuff.
