F1 » Marussia set for shock F1 return?

Manor/Marussia (unlike Caterham) showed every sign of working their way up the grid this season - their PU this year would have been a great improvement, based on Ferrari & Sauber testing to date. So on on that basis alone their inclusion in this year's field will be a good thing - if nothing else to answer ill-informed critics like the one above.

F1 » Fernando Alonso to miss Australian Grand Prix

The hazards of concussions are now right up in the forefront of concerns (rightfully so) since the legal actions within the NFL last year. Look at the procedures now in place within rugby - and Alonso's impact was likely far higher than that likely to be suffered within that sport. I fail to understand why there seems such suspicion that he is being rested. Had he raced, and had an accident, (God forbid), I can only imagine the outrage from all the hindsight brigade. Doctors don't (usually) have any agenda other than the safety and well-being of their patient - which I am sure is the case here.

F1 » Alonso: I’ve unfinished business with McLaren in F1

Certainly Forghieri has vastly more experience of a driver's input. However, he also comes from a Ferrari era where the engineers reigned, and drivers were something of a renewable commodity. Remember that the Ferrari attitude was that the car won, but the driver lost. Maybe under Allison they can get back to the sharp end, but without a team like Todt, Brawn & Byrne, there's no telling if or when the political infighting will resurface, should results not go to expectations.
