Samas - that is not an argument. He would've made enough money to do that anyway wherever he raced.

I would never admit to stat trawling online! ho,ho I wouldn't expect anything but a vigorous defensive of anyone remotely connected with the US from you Rawdawg and long may it continue! You are of course right King Kenny kicked butt all across the Atlantic (and the world) I just get sad at the lack of U.K champs recently...boo.

- maybe even Motogp but because Mladin beat him in AMA that means Mladin couldve done what Spies is now DOING yes thats right he has actually left USA and started racing in the big bad world.

Right im going to say it and its not going to be popular but here it is - Racing for the money is shallow and morally wrong.... Ho,ho only joking folks, but at least Hodgson has done WSBK and won it thus earning the right to live it up on the dosh. No? Mladin is no doubt fast in the USA but how do you know he would clean up elsewhere? by that logic Chris Walker should've won WSBK because he was beating Hodgson In BSB or Hislop(who is a god by the way) because he was beating Toseland. Explain it to me people?(not you rawdag you need sleep man) theroy is great but there are many factors here. Spies is already a far better rider than Mladin and i believe he will be WC in WSBK and-

god rawdawg do you ever sleep or do you spend your time trawling through stats. Its quite sad really, If you have to keep going on about who is the best then i believe(as i have pointed out to you before)U.K has far more motorcycle champions than the good ole USA. So ne ne ne-ne-neh. :) Sheene7 at last a voice of reason. Brits get bollox all help or money this has seriously hampered any chance of a u.k motogp/500cc WC but despite this handicap we still have considerably more than you.. None since Sheene but theres always the mighty JT!!!...ahem. bring on Redding.

geoff kingston and ohmygodmydancingisbad - Im not saying he is a bad racer clearly he has got talent but as he has never applied that talent to the world stage then you cant go around saying stuff like - he would've been worldchamp in wsbk or 500cc. Because there is ZERO proof of this other than a few wildcards. As far as i can tell he tried gp with Cagiva and got burnt. that bike finished 4th or 5th in the hands of John Kosinski i think in 1993 so it wasn't that bad a bike.

Christ you yanks are touchy about some turncoat aussie no?? here are the FACTS. Mladin NEVER RACED IN WSBK o.k? that means NOTHING is proven in that series no matter how well spies is doing and how many times Mladin beat him in AMA on the same bike its ALL HYPOTHETICAL dont you understand that????? for pitys sake even Hodgson has won a world series and hes crap! Until you win a WC in SBK you are nothing but a glorified club racer people. There are no bragging rights, FACT.

mark i was being sarcatic about him racing in WSBK. He did wildcard Laguna in 2003 or 2004. It just frustrates me that here was a man who could maybe have done more, maybe a lot more but instead he sat in AMA sucking up the money and the best ride when after a few years he should've let other younger riders take some of that money and that ride while he moved on to a lets say factory Suzuki team in WSBK in which he would've got paid the money he wanted for sure. Dont tell me he was never offered a big money WSBK ride. Again though it was/is his choice so fairplay to him.

Anybody who says Mat couldn't cut it in WSBK hasn't got a clue. Sorry I watched WSBK for 15 years and I never saw him 'cut it' so I guess I haven't got a clue?? The only place he looked remotely competitive was (drumroll) ....Laguna Seca!!! yes thats right a track that is part of AMA series. Suprise! Look guys he was a very good racer but never could deal with the failure in WSBK so took the easy option and retired to AMA. Which is fair enough if he was on a good screw. Lets not make him out to be a world beater please.
