I would say in today's motogp it more of an advantage to come up from the 250's than from superbike racing, the ex superbike riders haven't had the best of times in motogp i.e edwards, bayliss two dominant wsbk riders, where as the 250 riders like pedrosa, stoner have done well possibly cos it could be harder to ride a 250 now than a 800 with all it's electronics.

the way everyone keeps on about stoner makes me laugh, yes he's champ cos he was the best last year, they compare it to rossi winning his first title, a 500cc 2 stroke without t/c is a bit harder ride than the bikes are now, I would like to see electronics taken away just to give the rider more input, it's not a safety reason electronics are these machines like people keep saying, they supposedly reduced the engine size for "safety reasons" to make them go slower but they lapped just as quick.

testing isn't racing, pre season is the same every year, Colin Edwards is top of the timing sheets but he never converts it into the races, testing is just a time trial no pressure from other people trying to beat you on track for the win, we get the same old knee jerk reaction from people everytime, we'll find out whose at the sharp end in the first gp and not before.
