To much hype is given to the likes of Vetel etc for a couple of flash in the pan races where he really did not produce the qualifying lap time and the race pace to set himself up as a little schumi (german press LOL). its going to be a really sad day if honda back out of F1 maybe bernie should stop taking so much out of the sport and get another governing body in to administer the rules as that is all the fia does. I am kind of hoping in my dreams that there is a breakaway series but i dont think there is anyone out there who is capable of running it especially the teams as they have enough on their plate racing the cars.

this is a real travesty for F1 sport in general Honda have produced winning engines for williams etc in the past and it is a real shame if they pull the plug on F1. The really sad thing about the whole situation is max is going to say it adds weight to his plans to introduce a single engine supplier to F1 for future races (which will dive even more teams out of the sport with the global down turn and it is just like max to do this at the WRONG time). The future of jenson and rubens will not really be effected i dont think as another team i would have thought would snap them up maybe force india etc for next year or the year after (continued)

Brendan to quote ron dennis i think he said we will not comment on the issue and we are bound by a confidentiality agreement with alonso but if it becomes nececsary we will speak but at this time we will not comment. So as long as alonso keeps his trap shut he will not be dragged through the muck and believe me he is more guilty than has been said in the press, it is onyl mclarens good will to him that has kept him in a job elsewhere

OK as far as i understood the new rules it was going to be a spec for an engine and the manufacturers had to follow the spec for building the new engines but they would not be supplied by the same manufacturer. If what you are all saying is true in the slightest context then F1 is becoming farsical and a total mockery of the reason for the sport and it's title F1

Really nice to know you are not worried about cars that are testing in february as later cars will have the same technology copied alonso wonder where we have heard all this before could it be the mclaren spy case or am i wrong. Maybe it just comes naturally for you to steal other teams ideas

same old sarcastic remark rich ard. I think for one it is nice to hear murry speak out over the fia and max, it is about time someone who has been associated with the sport for three decades says something. It is obvious he will get shot down on these pages just like jackie stewart does as not many agree with his comments but when the opinion hurts it's easy to say something derogative. Max and little Bernie have a long and proven track record ever since the bramham days and are not in favour of the best interests of F1 racing in general and have only been out to line trheir own pockets. I for one hope his wife takes him for all his money.

well i agree naughtie bernie but if you think about it if lewis hamiltons partner played the team game in 2007 and slowed to let his team mate past lewis would have won last year that is how spiteful alonso was to hamilton and the team which i think he will regret in future years of racing as he has a very limited possiblity of moving between teams now. We all know Santander is going to ferrari in 2010 but will alonso i get the feeling he will not be going because of his antics in 2007 after all he admitted he had ferrari data on his private computer and when doing so he admitted he will stoop to any level to win and ferrari will not want that image at marinelo.

helter skelter i agree not with the millions every month maybe but to donate a mere $25,000 dollars is a pitance of his wagers not even a weeks money for his home countries disaster fund now that is a real shame. As for the rest of the drivers donating like it has already been said on this thread they should be donating to their own countries disaster funds, when you think about it if we give £10 to the fund that would be massa's equivelant so its not bad and at the end of the day he did not have to donate anything at all to the fund.
