well done ron its been a pleasure to watch the mclaren going around the tracks all these years with you at the helm an excellant job well done and im really sure martin will continue with the best interests of mclaren at heart. pity about richards comments but it is of no big suprise and his comments are not really worth commenting on as usual.

i can see both sides of the argument one for medals and one for the current system if you go for the medals system how do you decide who came second or third so there must be points awarded somewhere in the medals system if it is implemented. Lewis is right the new system does not really show up the teams efforts in being consistant if the driver does not make the podium if points are not awarded. Maybe the points system should stay but the WDC is decided on the medals system only.

I do not really agree with the current system of awarding points for finishes as bernie said a driver is not going to try and win the race if he is second for an extra 2 points and the system he is proposing does sound a little better than the current one but when you take into consideration the stewards awarding a drive through penalty after the race has finished then it does point out some serious flaws in the proposal of the medal system. Maybe there should only be drive throughs awarded up to the last lap from the end of the race as you cannot take a drive through after the race has ended, the main problem i think alot of people have is with the inconsistancy of the steward decision

it is absolutly ridiculous that fom takes 50% of the revenue from F1 if the smaller teams got a better percentage then maybe some of those teams would have remained in F1 to help make the grid up to a full compliment.

interesting statement about the conference centre it sounds like gillet just may have something here if he can pull it all togeather in time for the 2010 gp i would have liked it to have stayed at silverstone but if it has to be donnington or nothing then i am all for it.

Totally agree with rons statement the teams i.e. FOTA should continue to work togeather to improve F1 for the fans and teams in this new global financial crisis, however i do not agree with max and bernie being in control anymore with such a great amount of co-operation between the teams bernie i.e. FOM is not required anymore. Max signed honda's demise i think to a certain extent in his letter about cutting back on resources i.e. wind tunnels etc. what future buyer of honda is going to think a state of the art facility is going to makle things easier when you are not allowed to use them. To all above i gave up trying to reason with sunny ages ago it is a pointless excercise.

Have to agree with dc i dont think button has lost any of his ambition to win the wdc i just think since his fall out with frank and going to honda he will find it difficult to recover from the situation he has put himself in, he is a good driver but not really had the equipment to deliver even when he worked for frank.
