YES! YES! YES!
The best news of the year so far
I had just about resigned myself to no practice & having to put up with the BBCs puerile coverage
But now I will just watch what eurosport show live & wait for their superior delayed coverage of the big class

FOTA reaches 'common view' on F1 budget cap crisis
But with several others just as engine suppliers this to me seemed to work well And if you look at Hondas overall record in F1 they have had much more success as an engine supplier than when they have entered as a team And as a final point if Ferrari are under contract to race until 2012 & the suggested 2 tier system or imposed budget cap doesnt constitute a significant change to the terms and conditions of said contract well they deserve all they get for signing it in the first place

FOTA reaches 'common view' on F1 budget cap crisis
Ok this whole subject I find very difficult, as to a certain extent I can see both sides of the argument (and even partly agreeing with max makes me feel dirty) Yes costs need to be cut in F1 but not just for the teams, how about Bernie reducing the cost to the circuits for holding a race Not squeezing every thing he can out of them resulting in the cost passed on to the fans who attend races Or is Bernies aim to carry on turning a race in to one big corporate hospitality event In all of the talk on this subject the fans seem to be the biggest losers all round Just look at what this years regulation changes have done, given us some of the best racing in years what most fans want now is another period of stable regulations to give the teams time to master the regs And I really dont think that the manufacturer teams are as important as is being made out Just look at the mid 80's to mid 90's some of the best racing of all time & more or less only one manufacturer team

Ferrari to discuss Formula One future
7 agree.
Can someone please explain why FERRARI are so important to F1 They are just another team no more or less important than say Force India The situation at the moment could go 3 ways 1 FOTA take a united stance and take Max & Bernie Head on 2 Ferrari & some others walk away 3 FOTA walk away & the teams set up their own series I would actually like option 3 the idea of a proper race series again without the FIA or Bernie is very attractive But what ever happens unless the stupid medals system is dropped next years F1 world drivers championship will mean nothing

Villeneuve 'open' to F1 return and eyeing US GPE

JV deserves no place in F1 He is at best average, he only got his F1 title due to being in the astounding Williams of the day His track record at both B.A.R & BMW was poor at best Let some young blood with talent have a chance not an average driver who uses his name to get drives

Ecclestone demands patience as 'everyone' suffers
3 agree.
Bernie either get a new pair of specs or open your eyes You & your companies have been bleeding F1 dry for years & now you want everyone but you and your companies to save the sport you have been killing

BBC responds to MotoGP fans.

@ BJ "Eurosport who were not prepared to retain the contract" I think you will find that statement is wrong! As far as I know DORNA just told Eurosport thanks for the years of support & goodbye They no longer wanted a pan European broadcaster & instead wanted it on “Free to Air” channels in all of Europe And as I and a few others have pointed out this is all DORNA’s fault

BBC responds to MotoGP fans.
Belinda I must dispute this statement “However the 'red button' which, particularly after the digital switch off, is basically just another channel” It is not! If it were it would be easy for someone to program a device to record from it, which the vast majority cannot do May own grievances with regard to this mater are all the Fault of DORNA and you must realise that all the ill feeling this is causing is the fault of DORNA For giving the BBC exclusive coverage As I have said elsewhere I do not like the style of the BBC coverage in comparison to the infinitely superior coverage that Eurosport has previously provided I do appreciate that the BBC has been put in this situation by DORNA But surly as the BBC must have known they could not provide the same amount or quality of coverage that eurosport did Why did you not tell DORNA you did not want an exclusive deal (You may have guessed I will not be happy until I can have all the Friday, Saturday & race coverage provided previously by eurosport on a channel that I can set up a programmed record time so I can watch when it suits me

Well I have never liked the BBC’s inadequate coverage the lack of recordable qualie, 125 & 250 is a major failing & looping on the red button is not an adequate substitute As for the commentary team well I for one will be looking for an audio feed from elsewhere to get round that one As the BBC coverage I have seen in recent years has had all the quality of ITV’s James Allen doing F1 I am disappointed by the BBC’s plans but not surprised & I do realise that this whole fiasco is not their fault but the Fault of DORNA who are the real cause of all this with their cynical money grabbing (wanabe Eclestones?!)
