Oscar - your 'facts' aren't exactly factual. A slow lap does not necessarily mean a rider has backed off. Stoner may have lost time by making a mistake. He may have been trying too hard which is quite the opposite isn't it.

Agreed, great to see JT in the thick of things and improving. Very interesting that Vale is instantly quick on the Bridgestones and not too far in front of Colin. I don't much like the bloke but I'm glad to see Lorenzo up there and looking determined, by both number of laps and lap times, to mix things up. Let's see what ridiculous statements of 'fact' follow in other peoples comments...

Fantastic stuff and genuine praise by the sounds of it, It looks like James really could be doing no more than he is, let's just hope the bike does develop as well during the off season.

I have read the interviews with JT on MCN and the bloke is not completely overwhelmed. He's being very honest and open about the task at hand. The bloody huge task at hand. It's new, it's hot, it stops ridiculously quickly, it's hot - fair play to him for being so open. He knows he can only learn so much in a day and as a result he speaks quite openly about those limitations. He's not overwhelmed, he's exactly as he should be...a little better than he should be if you read todays comments from his team. I agree with you about NIcky, though I never like to attribute his 2006 success to luck. Vale had bad luck ;), Nicky earned his 1 plate.

I think Nicky Hayden might have something to say regarding the switch from a superbike to MotoGP or shall we not mention him for the sake of your arguments? Claiming that JT is completely overwhelmed is ridiculous. He's at the bottom of a learning curve looking up. Where else would he be?

There's nobody I'd like to see turn it round next year more than Colin. He's probably the most popular guy in the paddock and is hugely respected by Michelin and Yamaha alike, for bloody good reason imo. I was at Donington this year when he managed to stick the M1 on pole - the place went absolutely nuts. I'm sure nobody is more disappointed than him at his results since coming to MotoGP. His performance in WSB was phenomenal and he must have expected far more. Moving out of Vale's shadow and into a team with JT may well stoke up that fire in him. He's certainly not going to want to be beaten by another double champ from WSB is he, and certainly not one in his rookie year.
