@ some1 I like the dedication that you have to your theory, but it is a pretty ridiculous one, for the following reasons: 1- most wear is put on the front going into and through the corner, trail braking and then using edge grip. Under braking is when the most pressure is on the front tyre 2- Wear also can occurs to the front as it gets pushed (understeer) through the corner on exit, but only occurs when the bike is on its side. Stoner avoids this somewhat by steering with the rear 3- Stoner was wheelying out of the corner once the bike was upright on the least stressed part of the tyre 4- if anything it is rougher on the front to wheelie. As the tyre makes contact with the track again it is moving at a different speed, causing wear as it catches up (think of a plane landing) He was saying that your theory was dumb.

I find it depressing that Rossi isn't even trying anymore. In the final minutes of QP he dragged the toe of his boot on the ground, that is pure laziness. I've not doen that on the road let alone track and I'm not paid a million per month to ride my old hack around. Casey always gave 100% on that bike. I used to be a Rossi fan cos of the way he rode, not his silly antics or yellow merchandise. His current efforts are insulting to Ducati, it's sponsors and more importantly to his fans. Time for him to put in some effort on track, not just point out problems with the bike in interviews

Also: Nicky Hayden finished 7th in the WC last year while Stoner was 4th with 9 podiums and 3 wins. He had 5 podiums at this stage of the year and his lowest finish all year was a couple of 5th places Nicky Hayden is currently 7th in the WC. Rossi is 6th with one podium and he's just posted his worst finish of the year in 10th. He's avaging about a 6th place finish.

@george Even if he was factory last year he's still in a worse position championship wise. The Honda came on form mid season last year and has been about the same since. All of Honda's riders from last year are doing about the same, Stoner is the difference. Can you honestly say that Rossi is improving the Duc? He rode it straight after Casey got a podium on it last year and finished at the bottom of the time sheets. He's requested changes but hasn't improved much since.

@george: True, but Dovi's results have got better cos Rossi has got worse, he's averaging the same amount of podiums and he had a pole and a fastest lap last year - hasn't done that this year. The other bike in front of him last year was Dani. Simoncelli was not on a works bike last year, he finished 8th in the championship. He's currently in 9th
