The leathers look like the traditional Yamaha colours the factory team raced in a couple of years ago at Valencia. I actually though that he was using a set of Edwards's old leathers! They look fine to me - I bet that he's gonna get paid quite a bit of cash to wear them as well....

I'm not being funny but the number 7 was retired from Grand Prix racing upon news of Barry Sheenes death. How comes Checa was using it and now Vermuelen?

Superbikes are a completely different animal 2 Moto GP bikes. Its well documented that 800cc Moto GP bikes need a 250cc riding style - high corner speeds & keeping the momentum up. Superbikes have a completely different style. So not only has JT had to ride a new bike, with new tyres, new brakes, new circuit, new electronics he also has to try a new style (phew!) Rather him than me! The fact is that you cannot run before you can walk. Who won the race - the tortoise or the hare? I'm British and of course will support Toseland 100% - but it WILL be tough. Mentally and physically he is up there with the best of them. He's not big headed or arrogant & is down to earth. He'll do fine...

Tech 3 will have factory 2008 Yamaha's next year and I am in no doubt that Tech 3 will get factory support through the year. If they don't then they would go backwards down the grid and I cannot see how that would benefit Yamahas profile. Turning to Toseland and his performance at the test - he has done fine as far as I am concerned. He has got faster each day & he said himself, this test was simply a "dry run" - getting used to the tyres, carbon brakes, new bike etc. He hasn't been that far behind Lorenzo, who I am using as a benchmark for Toseland during the tests - even though Lorenzo knows all the tracks that they will test on. Lorenzo used a qualifying tyre today, hence his time
