MotoGP » Latest 2015 MotoGP Championship standings

The pussypoints system needs to be scrapped. This points system makes this into a consistency champonship. To wit: 2 wins and a 3rd for 46 is only 6 points better than 3 2nds for 4? NFW! Or, if 93 wins 5 in a row and 4 takes 5 more 2nd, 93 is only 1 point ahead of 4 with 6 wins vs 8 2nd? Wins need to count for a lot more. The world champion should be the guy with the most wins.

MotoGP » Marquez: Outcome is difficult to accept

Why is the result difficult to accept? Marc blew the start and created his own problems. Still, he ended the first lap less than 2 seconds behind Rossi and by lap 8 he was only 2 places but nearly 4 seconds behind Rossi. He did cut the gap to Rossi somewhat during the middle of the race but then it opened again. Rossi clearly had better pace. If you want to win races, don't mke mistakes!

MotoGP » MotoGP Qatar - Free Practice (2) Results

My point is just that position in the fastest lap sequence is not as important as how consistently fast a rider is. Races are run by going fast consistently, not just occasionally.

Robert Danley: Look behind the numbers. Number of laps in the 1:55 and below range. Marquez - 7, Pedrosa - 4, Dovizioso - 4, Crutchlow - 2 Iannone - 2, Lorenzo - 4, Rossi - 8. It ain't about going fast once, it's about going fast consistently. Marquez clearly the top. It's looking like the big 4 again but possibly Rossi Marquez like last year.
Just because Rossi did 8 sub-56s doesn't mean he's there. He's is still missing 3-4 tenths at the very least in terms of pace to be anywhere near Marc. Yes he was testing the hard, but even on the medium he was lacking those couple of tenths, as usual. The ease with which Marquez is laying down those low 55s is frightening and the others just don't seem to be comfortable to push. I have a gut feeling this year Rossi or e

MotoGP » Rossi: Stoner at Laguna my best battle

I'm a big Rossi fan and was glad to see him beat Stoner at Laguna Seca but he did pass Stoner illegally. The rules are very clear, you must stay on the track, if you run off the track accidentally, you may not take advantage of another rider. After the race Rossi said he knew that if he passed on the inside on the dirt there was enough traction to do it. So that's what he did during the race. He passed Stoner by going off the track, violating the rule. He outsmarted Stoner and rattled him so badly that Stoner crashed but he made an illegal pass to do it.

MotoGP » Pedrosa focussing on Rossi fight

Robert Danley: Pedrosa might be better served by remembering that the championship isn't over yet. Anything can happen. It's not over until its over.
If Marquez wins in Aragon and podiums in Motegi (and Pedrosa/Rossi are more than 75 points behind), the championship is over. He'd be able to miss the last 3 rounds completely and still be crowned the champ (loose math, but you guys get the point).
Awful lot of ifs there. If Marquez crashes and can't race for a few races it's wide open. Don't concede the title until it is won.
