I don''t even get to see current ITV or future BBC coverage, but even so, this is an underhand move by the FIA. Since when do they have the right to dictate who can and can't commentate on a race. Brundle has a pop at Max and this is Max''s revenge? Or is Donnelly doing this off his own bat to stay in Max''s good books. This just shows how Max and his cronies behave and why they should GO, NOW.

Sad to see them go, of course, as with any other team. But they were a victim of their own making. Trying to do it from Germany (how many other teams are there in Germany), consistently hiring the wrong drivers and paying them too much and not getting rid of them when they did not perform. F1 isn't on message for Toyota. As many others have said, WRC is where they should be. It's like saying Subaru are entering F1. It just doesn't gel. It would be interesting to see if anyone buys them, then who will get the nod for 2010. Sauber or "Toyota".

Well, the circuit isn't as bad as it could have been, although there are too many 90 degree corners. It would have been nice to see a pit entry as well. As for Bruno driving slowly, we don't know the spec of the car, it was carrying a passenger and the circuit is new and can't have had that much rubber put down yet. All in all, I think he did OK.

blzbub, I think that McLaren as well as a lot of other teams could have developed their car a lot faster, especially in the first half of the season that they were able to. If you look at the results for the first half, Brawn pretty much had it all to themselves. They could only really test parts a races, and then only in a limited fashion on Friday, after which they had to concentrate on setting up and qualifying. To have a test ban after so many fundamental rule changes also beggars belief. To me at least. I actually think it was a deliberate ploy by MM to shake things up.

The testing ban has only helped to create a runaway season for the likes of Brawn and Red Bull, as other teams have been unable to develop their cars as quickly as before. It was a great idea, NOT. Anything that seeks to redress this situation can only be good.

@andrewm I think that you are setting unobtainale targets for who can be "arrogant". In almost all years, the driver who wins the WDC has the best car. It kind of goes with, if you know what I mean. Sure, the driver plays a large part, but without the car, even a great driver can't perform miracles.

sounds pretty stupid to me. The Mercedes engine is one of the better engines in F1 at the moment. To move away from that would seem to be a huge gamble.
