Laterrus: Rossi Fanboy #1
RECOMMENDED COMMENT
163 agree.
52 disagree.
The Yamaha definately didn't have any "Special Go Fast Parts" prior to 2008! Rossi is just that good. Plain and simple. If he were to leave the series today, a WHOOOOOLE lot of people would quit caring about this sport. Say what you will about Dorna making him the GOAT. Even IF they were helping him somehow, that doesn't make people like him. People like him for who HE is and nothing else. He crushes all the newcomers and veterans just about every year and "some" people just can't stand it. One thing is for sure, as long as Rossi races, he will be king and EVERYONE in the MotoGP paddock knows that! There is a level called "ROSSI" and ALL of the other racers are trying to get to it!

Japanese MotoGP - Saturday practice times.
1 agrees.
4 disagree.
but, everytime I watch live timing or a race, I'm hoping to see Edwards arrive before Toseland and Rossi to arrive before Stoner. Hey, I'm just a normal everyday guy who probably couldn't even out-ride the crew chiefs of these guys but, I have my opinion and this is way I look at things. Maybe Edwards can even pull out a race win or two this season. I'm sure Rossi wouldn't mind one bit!

Japanese MotoGP - Saturday practice times.
1 agrees.
3 disagree.
I know it may seem kinda mean for me to say this but, Colin Edwards being at the top of the sheets in free practice is alllllright with me because, that means he's ahead of Stoner and Toseland. I'm not so worried about him being ahead of Rossi however because, come race day, Rossi will be ahead of him and Stoner will be too but, the more people that stick it to Stoner during practice/races/testing the better! A tad childish I KNOW but, I'm just so tired of people making Stoner seems soooooo invincible! As for Toseland, I feel like Karma is really kicking him in the butt for the way things went down last year. Don't get me wrong, I honestly don't like to see the guy crash or get hurt --continued---

James Stewart back on top at Superdome.
I agree 100% GMS1000. Like you said, Reed may win the championship but, HE knows who the fastest rider on the track is. Stewart has won twice the races Reed has but, Reed is ahead in points. Call me crazy but, something seems wrong with that picture. I guess being consistent does pay off. Rain or shine, GOOOOO STEWART!

Perfect Spies revels in beating idols
4 agree.
I agree no1gardener, he does seem a little embarrassed to beat these guys so easy. I think that's why he's so quick to give the other guys praise after a race. It must be tough to look someone like Haga in the eyes who's been in this series sooooo long without a championship after beating him by 2 plus seconds on a track you've only been to one race weekend. For a total jerk (which I "used to think" Spies was when he was in the AMA) it might be easy to rub it in their faces but, Spies is showing that he has a heart and gives respect to the competition while doing the job Yamaha is paying him to do. Unfortunately 4 EVERYone, Spies isn't gonna let up either. MotoGP's getting a BIG preview.

Australia: WSBK team by team analysis.
1 agrees.

of a race. Spies learns very fast as we all have seen and because of the new R1, whatever little bit of track knowledge he lacks after free practices at tracks he's never raced at could be made up by having a little more tire life than everyone towards the end of the races and "if" he starts from pole often and stays out of trouble during races, he's gonna be a serious contender for the title this year. You can have all the power in the world on a bike but, if it eats tires up halfway through a race and you have a VERY fast rider on your tail with a strong bike and more available tire grip, you're gonna have your hands full. Like I said, looks like Yamaha got it right this year. Go Spies!

Australia: WSBK team by team analysis.
I think Yamaha got it right this season in all the Motorcycle series they're in. Even by signing two rookies in WSB. Spies is a brilliant rider and that's obvious but, another good thing for their team is the all new "Big Bang" R1. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but, isn't "one" the main features of a Big Bang engine configuration is the fact that it's supposed to be easier on tires than screamer engines? I know the power delivery is supposed to be smoother. If it is easier on tires, you could put two fast learning rookies on the bike and let them race against a field mainly made up of screamer engines and the R1's should "theoretically" have more tire life in the last half -cont.-

Reed breaks Stewart’s streak at Indy.
4 agree.
8 disagree.
I think the heading of this thread should be "STEWART breaks Stewart's streak at Indy" Chad Reed rode 20 perfect laps blah, blah but, Stewart made a million mistakes and still caught up to him easily with a alot of laps left. Even with a good start, if Stewart wouldn't have made any mistakes, Reed wouldn't have stood a chance what-so-ever! Reed is definately the best of the rest but, Stewart gave him that race. Any other race that Reed wins while Stewart is on the track is a "gimme" too because, on any dirtbike made, Stewart has Reed's number and he would have to make many mistakes like this race for Reed to win. It would suck if Reed won the Championship after only winning ONE race!
