Sad indeed, my commisserations Lucif. The friend I was with to Assen BSB told me out of the blue that his sister had passed recently. She had Multiple Sclerosis and just didn't want to live anymore. Such a waste of life. I always remember her as a cheerful woman but th life just slipped out of her over the years. R.I.P.

Race two ended really violent for some, Smrz (was it him?) passed th finish line blowing up his engine, seconds later followed by Victor Cox whose rear tyre literally exploded coming out of the last chicane, sending the machine down and the rider thrown off in a violent highside. I've rarely seen such a wild crash. The poor guy kept lying still for quite a while but finally walked away. Scary stuff. The tyre and wheel had completely disintegrated...

Race one was weird as Tommy Hill hit a mechanic whilst lining up on the grid and was thrown over the handlebars. I was sitting on the grandstand, very close to where it happened but I looked the other way (at Jenny). There was a sudden cry of shockfrom a couple of thousand people around me and frantic activity from the Swan Yamaha team.

He hinted that there was a high ranking Yamaha person who told him to put in a 100 percent or not show up at Laguna. That apparently did the trick for him. He's had a tough year but not everything is mechanical, he made mistakes as well. You expect his luck to change anytima and that he'll win a race. like Assen last year. Lotto numbers? Make sure that there's no 27 in there :p

Interesting day of motorsports: Melandri bins it in WSBK race one, handing the lead to Biaggi. Biaggi and Melandri bin it in race two... Chaz Davies wins race two AND signs for BMW for next year. A Dutchman namedJeffrey Herlings wins the MX2 Motocross world title. Where will Ben Spies go? Gresini? Ducati 'junior' team alongside Iannone?
