I shouldn't think so ? Probably more to do with Rossi having already made the decision to change to Bridgestones for 2008.

The RGV 250 was actually a works bike but in it's first season and very underdeveloped, so not really a match for the other works 250s. Finished 6th I think which is preety impressive when you consider these were the Capirossi, Waldman, Harada years. Vintage 250 racing. Was it '97 or '98?

Thanks for the comment son. By the way I am a JT fan. In 2004 he didn't even have his own team behind him. Davide just shrugged his shoulders in full view of the TV when JT crossed the line as Champion. They wanted Laconi to win (half Italian). When JT won the world championship Ducati didn't even have T-shirts printed (I bet there were a few cheap Laconi WC shirts around though :)). He was also a lot younger and a lot less experienced then (Youngest WSBK Champ). This is all history though. This year, aside from injury, nothing is going to stop Bayliss.

This is going to be interesting. Vale only lost last year due to the lack of horsepower from the Yamaha. This year they have closed the gap to Caseys' Ducati. Historically a Bridgestone track but the Michelins appeared to work well here last year (in a generally poor year for them). The two championship leaders are on Michelins and on top form (Jorge on the same bike as Vale). Stoner (on Bridgestones) won last year and needs to do the same again this year. This one is to close to call. Looking forward to Friday. Does anyone know what the weather forcast is for China?

Hodgson is faster than any of his team mates but he might be a spent force now. Biaggi could be super quick or a super pain in the butt, depending on the side of the bed he got out of (although on the factory bike I think he would be the former and a great replacement for Bayliss). Lavilla or Byrne? It would be interesting. I still think Haga will replace Bayliss. He rode a private 999 in 2004(?) and came close to the championship. He would be awesome to watch.

Bayliss has a 70 point lead for two reasons. 1)He is probably the fastest rider out there, week in, week out and 2). His rivals keep falling/failing. Slowing the Ducati down is not justified. If Haga could stay on the bike he would be an awful lot closer to Bayliss now and if Checa hadn't done what he did in Valencia then Bayliss would have a lesser lead. These are all ifs and buts. The fact is Bayliss stays on and, when possible, wins.

Fantastic race. This is why we all love this sport. Clean, safe (ish) and edge of the seat from start to finish. Nice one Pitt. Class and experience shone. Rea is finding his feet on the 600 (understatement) and Jones and Lascorz are pure speed in completely different ways. They all deserved to win.
