F1 » Kaltenborn content with ‘step-by-step’ Sauber strategy

nealio: The Sauber driver disaster is a symptom of the financial straits that Sauber and other non-manufacturer teams are dealing with. Success for those teams is survival not winning races or championships. Kaltenborn's errors were caused by the imperative to save Sauber and all the jobs of the team members. Any moral business person would do the same. Pity is that Peter Sauber and Kaltenborn are in such an immoral environment, F1!
Please forward your name and ( possible ) business, so that we will all stand a better chance of avoiding you and your 'moral business' model...

MotoGP » 218mph for Barbera at Mugello

lemmysfibroma May 29, 2015 2:44 PM Not true. Marquez did 350.5 this year's race in Qatar. You're quite right, Brembo released figures in '14 saying factory Ducati and Honda were exceeding 224mph at the end of Mugello home straight. the official speed timing beacons are set up for f1 cars approaching terminal velocity, but the motogp bikes are already breaking..

WSBK » Team Hero EBR withdraws from WSBK

As much as I admire Pegram's keen ethos, most folk watching from afar feared this could well happen. Too much too soon, or running before you can walk, both terms that come to mind here. The core business is about selling bikes, and if this class of bike is ( and was when the whole Buell \ Hero venture started ) selling at an all time low it would be pointless to throw yet more investment at it.

MotoGP » Chassis upgrade for Scott Redding

golfnut04: Hayden or Laverty would be faster if they had the same machinery.
Redding is a class act, the youngest GP winner ever bears testament to that fact, and Honda believe in him ! Hayden is a really great bloke but has won only a few races, and won a WC, on a very personally factory tailored prototype / one of the finest race bikes ever produced...of the brothers Laverty, I never quite 'took' to Eugene, he's been around GP's before and I can't be alone in thinking he's not quite in the same class as the above, regardless...

MotoGP » Chassis upgrade for Scott Redding

Joeski: Whoaa.....
I'm perfectly aware of the history, and lest we forget he arrived after beating Mladin in a very weak series. He was never expected to 'live'. on terms, with Rossi. He reminded us of that fact when disclosing that Yamaha had tried to secure his services in taking the number 1 plate over to them in '07. Number 1 plate but signing as number two and on a quarter of Rossi's salary. I'm also perfectly aware of the fact that it was Puig who was pushing HRC hard for every concession with Dani in mind. Dani was Honda's future', not hard to read between the lines. But Nicky was now in his 4th RC211V season, far too well acquainted with how to get the best from it, so what he lacked in development bits he made up for with plain understanding and the same goes for the engineers that both knew him and the bike so well !? .

F1 » EXCLUSIVE: Simona de Silvestro - Q&A Interview

ZEDX: But you can sense the tinge of regret of getting so near to an actual F1 drive and having it snatched away..
I bet there are HUNDREDS of drivers that Monisha has fluttered her eyes at, suggesting they're 'so so close' to realising the dream of a drive with her F1Sauber team...actually, I wouldn't be surprised if 75% thought they'd actually signed legal and binding terms suggesting they were actually on the grid next season :-)
