MotoGP » Nicky Hayden, Ducati Christmas special

Someone hinted at the possibilities here so think on...Does it not occur that this small film is 'of a yamaha motogp ilk,' think Edwards, Spies ( Toseland ), Rossi and Jorge and the number of different scenarios they played on film for yamaha...THE same director, 'perhaps' the director is a friend of Vale's... THE big punch line is to be shown in the new year, now I wonder what that will entail !!????

WSBK » Melandri WSBK debut in jeopardy?

Already I'm thinking Yamaha will struggle living up to even last year..their bike was a big handful putting the power down out of turns..Spies is a brilliant rider but the '09 was much a better beast than what they had last year. 2011 may well be trying times, Marco has a lot to live up to and if the bike has problems, so will he..his temprement / recovery may be seen by the standard of his bike. Eugene, a great kid, but he's no Crutchlow..hope he proves me wrong !!

MotoGP » 125: Paris Hilton teams with BQR for 125 entry

What's this all about then, she's no Banderas is she, that guy must take credit for his support ! Just what does she do, a star of her own reality, is she using this to plug yet another sickly affair...sad really BUT if she turns up with a genuine beauty or two ( and not something that looks like her own plain self with millions spent to accentuate what little she has ) then I'll be happy :) Sadly they all appear to be a bit too full of themselves, this lot, but you never know lol..

WSBK » Edwards: Ducati quit over regulations

@ Sick, talking of sixes, have you seen the new for production soooooon 'Horex VR6,' a 1200 naked supercharged affair that's similar in engine concept to the VW groups VR6 road cars..essentially an inline engine with narrow V..I'd mention the BMW 1600/6 GT's but unsure if a touring man lol..perhaps you're old school and the CBX is more your thing, if so, the Horex may appeal. Of course, there could be myriad 6's of the American market ilk that I wouldn't have a clue about :).. The new top line Ducati 1198 SP is no 'R', more a up kitted 'S', one wonders if it is an indication as to their future participation in SBK class..however, an old SPS designate, new R, bike is probably not long off and perhaps will give an idea as to how seriously they wish to take the production class in future..agreed the present 1098R, 'F' series for the lucky, is probably not going to challenge for title in its own right.

F1 » Bahar: We don’t want to be Team Lotus

If I were a John Player marketing chap, I'd have every packet with an image of an old F1 car blazoned acroos it...they own the rights to that colour scheme, black and gold..better still put a generic modern F1 car in relief on the front of the packet, all within the already black and gold scheme..Asia is the big fag market and Lotus owned there.. and it certainly wouldn't do any 'harm to their worldwide image'...what 'rights lawyer' could touch that ...just who will benefit here for NOTHING, zilch cost !!??

WSBK » Edwards: Ducati quit over regulations

@Buelliful, one must remember that Ducati could've homologated a different engine should they have wished, Aprilia took to geared cams but something which they have to revert back to original spec now..the fact remains Ducati felt they shouldn't have to 'compromise' and very Italian reasoning behind that as I mentioned elsehwre..somebody mentioned throttle bodies too, got to be true also but if you aint got the money, you're not going anywhere..best 'help' a non factory affair and prove you can do it come what may. Checa has rather taken to official duties with Ducati presenting newly launched bikes ( 1198 and SP )and such..they plainly wish to maintain WSB impact as they'd have just got Nicky H to do some extended duties if they did not, I don't think they could've afforded Vale even if he couldn't technically ride a branded Ducati before his Yamaha contract finished :)

WSBK » Edwards: Ducati quit over regulations

@ S(L)ick, I preferred the notion of 'Slick Bass' obviously for some reason :) A P45 sounds interesting, although more like a 'plane lol.. Considering that 1098R motor makes well over a 100lbs touque in standard mode, I'm surprised they can justify arguing along the lines trying to more highly tune the 1200, along the lines of a highly stressed 999motor. Their arguments are counter productive with their very reasoning beind SBK allowing the 1200block in first place...sounds very 'ferrari'ISH' viewpoint, v Italian 'we SHOULD make the rules.' 1000cc 4's probably pump out no more than 90lbs fully tuned, the twin maybe 110lbs/ft and more at loss of some hp but it's this grunt where it's all at, something motogp bikes have little of..relying on peak revs hp, momentum / manoeuvrabily a la 250..I can't understand their logic chasing high stress motors.. perhaps electronics play their part massively in 'governing' this. Think more likely it's cost and the fact Vale took the lot lol.

@ Slick, is that what they told you over there :) The 1098 designate was not to make any hint of reference to previous 999 designate, considered a bit of a flop sales wise originally, controversial.. then reduced prices and specs to sell them successfully but a great bike nonetheless..the same way the 849cc *848* is branded such and not make any such 'notion' of 749..both were accurate cc but in 'R' only...the rest a cc shy. Maybe they have an '849' tax form to 'avoid' there also :)EDIT: Ok, I'll conceded it makes good marketing sense to 'avoid reference to tax code' or such but it's still not a Ducati Italy notion to form that because of that..sounds good though :)
