It would appear that there are no favoured sons at Honda these days, only Pedrosa.. I must admit to hoping that 'the Dov' would get something a little more than a sat spec RCV this year. After all his campaigning on, basically, an HRC 03\04 spec 250 with a few add ons each year he rode it...I'm not saying he'd have seen off Lorenzo but he certainly kept up with him 90% of the time and, if the Dov had've jumped ship to Aprilia, the other 10% may have brought him success. He's a class act for sure.

Villeneuve parts company with Pollock.
3 agree.
Villeneuve knew Williams had thrown their hat in with BMW in '98 as they were actively planning \ building their Williams BMW Le Mans challenger team for '99..it utilised too much resource and the Renault \ Meccachrome engine had no updates all through '98. The whole car was poor in '98. I suppose Honda seemed a better bet than any future prospect with BMW as, so Pollock said, the 'Reynard Honda team is built around Jaques.' I assumed BMW remembered that fact when they reluctantly took up his services via Sauber...or simply, as Jock Clear stated when he was pushed from Honda, 'maybe, he is just beyond his best now ??' I only know that I preferred his driving to his attempts at singing

Lewis: Alonso showed how not to behave.
2 agree.
3 disagree.
Two spoilt brats but I guess Alonso has to keep his mouth shut for a season or two, by release contract..it is a shame no one has told Hamilton that fact...as I say, two spoilt brats but it did keep a dulling F1 in the news and that in turn kept Bernie happy, did it not ??

Button: I might have an early advantage…
2 agree.
I find it hard to believe some folk can't understand a simple statement, 'I may have an initial advantage ( now no tc ) as I have a smooth driving style'....my goodness is that so hard to follow... it obviously is for some here.

Q&A: Valentino Rossi.
1 agrees.
It now seems apparent that the 08 bike is, in main, the late spec 07 bike with pneumatic valves and more aero efficiency. Personally I think his tyre switch could be entirely related to that fact, why else would he say they needed more power only weeks from the 08 bikes unveiling...they haven''t got the power but HAD to try the now dominant''ish tyres. In the end of year ''try outs'' of all motogp bikes, Kevin Schwantz points out that the Yamaha seemed the least ''held back'' by electronics, as Rossi likes his own control of the bike but these systems can now make up the difference between ''most talented'' and a ''genius'' rider. I for one look forward to seeing any difference between Yamahas Michelin and Bridgestone runners but it''ll be harder work for Rossi now as no data to back him up..Rossi at a slight disadvantage eh ( ?? ) but that''s why he''ll be all the more worth watching. Toyota targeting podium and total reliability.
2 agree.
I''m sorry but they hope to achieve a podium visit or two in ''08 eh...my oh my I just wonder what they had slated down for ''season ''08'', success wise, seven years into this massive venture ?? I was also wondering if the, not inconsiderable, 1 billion dollars F1 expenditure could be the expected cut off point for these guys to sink or swim...oh, but that was surpassed years ago

Biaggi beats lap record.
3 disagree.
Certainly got me thinking, this one...the 999f06\7 was effectively a prototype racer allowed into WSB to compete with the 1000cc fours.....the highly highly tuned 999cc v twin lump shouldn''t appear so less a powerful engine than the new ''more standard'' 1200cc Ducati twin ?? Yet Ruben says, "The new motorbike has a powerful engine compared to the 999...'''' Or perhaps it''s just a racer ''talking up'' his new stead ?? Dean.

BMW pins hopes on 'radical evolution'.
2 disagree.
Or you could read it as, 'sorry guys, nothing new this year...just turned the traction off'
