I think before everybody starts jumping up and down about a possible change to 990's, we should have a good look at a couple of seasons of Moto2 and see how these bikes go on a race track....If they handle like the 990's then by all means bring them back, but if they are more like the 800's then maybe Dorna should look at a way of cutting costs on them without stuffing it up this time. We are all wanting the same thing and that is close racing and lots of passing and the only way that is going to happen is the riders do not find the transition from Moto2 to MotoGP difficult. This is the premier class of bike racing and it should stay that way, not go the way of WSBK.

Morgue that was a interesting vid on Casey's crash...seems like he already had it upright when it happened, no wonder he looked suprised.

I think Barbera could be the suprise next year. He was on top in the test and that was on the GP9. When he gets the new Big Bang engine in Sepang I think he will go even better as I am sure this bike will be so much easier to ride. :)

@ Monster Lol...Jeez no ! keep me inside for too long and Id smash the walls down to get out :). Ive been riding Dukes since the mid 70's so Ive got a few books and Ive been to the factory, so its not hard to get info on them....for such a small factory they have done really well in the racing world when you consider they are up against the might of the Japanese. I am sure we will see not only Casey and Nicky improve later in testing but once all the other riders get the same engine they will also.

Great conversation guys :) Back to the Desmo....Which all started with Taglioni and their Bialbero. He found that with the Valve float and the minimal valve-to-piston clearance, the engines reliability suffered when a rider missed a gear or high revs were maintained. So he looked at the desmodromics which Mercedes had used on thier W196 GP and 3oo SLR sport racing cars in 54-55. Apart from Mecedes, Taglioni was the only one to make Desmodromics work with reliability and successfully. He created a 125 race bike in a very short time and it raced at the Swedish GP in 56 and was actually one of Ducati's greatest race wins, lapping the entire field. :)

KneeDragon.....I really dont think it would worry Casey to much if he wasnt No 1, as he has always stated that all he wants to do is race bikes and win. In fact he would relish at the thought that Rossi would get most of the PR work. For me I'd like to see Rossi at Ducati with Casey as it would be a dream team for any Ducatisti who Likes both riders :)

The new engine setting, which I am preferring so far, changes the performance of the bike in different ways, for example in corner exit, so we have to modify the set-up in order to get the most out of it,” he explained. Does this mean a smoother and non sliding Stoner  I hope not coz at least if the racing was booring, watching him on the Ducati made it a bit better.....Well at least when he started :)

Mr Burgess.....The fact of the matter is Casey never got to say sweet FA so how could he say it was his fault and as most sportsman do when they make a mistake is forget about it dont do it again and get on with life, unlike some people around here who like to live the same day over and fooking over.....BOORING  Here is something from Rossi's book Portrait of a MotoGenius..."Valentino crashed way to many times during his Debut GP season....Sacchi Recalls: many came from Vale just not thinking, the tyres, cold ! give gas crash".......Remember this guy had already been WC twice so he knew about cold tyres, even the best make mistakes :)
