Quote of the day: "However there is a long way to go in the championship and I intend to win it".

Does this guy ever learn? He's been lapped in a Mclaren, he fumbled his start, I'm sure that he's lost some friends on the track due to his angry gesticulations towards them, he comes in in 13th place behind Fissicchell in a Forc India car, and still he does not feel humiliated, humbled or subdued in the slightest.

".....I intend to win it". Jesus, he's been humbled and in a fast McLaren to boot, not in one race but in the last two, and yet......

Lewis quotes: "I mainly felt sorry for the team because we had the car to do a better job and didn't do it". Great. Coming from the great pretender that's really rich. Other drivers are getting points and driving their guts out in a midfield car, and Lewis has the car to do better and flops it. "I just want to win more than ever. I judge myself on my standards of last year, so I don't see why anyone else can't..."; "Lasty year people did not expect much from me, this year they do". Is this guy coming or going? He talks far too much and is contradicting himself. He wants to win; is judging himself on last year's results; peoples' expectations of him are putting him under pressure...

Some English gentlemen might say that MM is a cad, the French will say that he is an imbecile' for getting caught, the Spanish will say that he is a serdo. We all say that he is a PERVERT and that he should go. Jean Todt for president of the FIA????? God forbid. That will be the end of F1.

rich ard, I am not Spanish, and chu chu thanks for the compliment. Dave, as you say the statement " there are teams-Williams, Toyota, BMW and Ferrari - that are always on top, no matter what.." has resonated a bit at first, but we know that there have been overtures from Toyota, BMW-Sauber and also from Ferrari towards Fernando, it could be that Williams was there bidding also, and that he has let it slip out succinctly. The man always picks out his words carefully before he speaks. One thing is for sure, if BMW and Toyota will be challenging for wins with the present line up, Ferrari will not let Fernando to be snapped by any of these teams next year, which would make their life harder.

....I have said all that before. Now please F1Tos, give me something new and recent. By the way my team Manchester United drew 0 - O against Barcellona yesterday, after the English Premier League top scorer, Cristiano Ronaldo, missed a penalty in the first 3 minutes of the game. Same as McLaren did last year, lost the championships with the best team on the grid. F1Tos, life is not just F1, there are other interesting sports to watch, enjoy, to entertain you, and if you are fit enough to practice. One question: F1Tos, do you really care where Fernando would go next year? Give me reasons please.

Calm down F1Tos, don't get over excited you might blow a gasket. What do you want me to repeat here for the hundred time? - That all the problems at McLaren last year originated from the fact that Ron Dennis mismanaged a dream situation and ended winning absolutely nothing for the 7th year in a row? - That if McLaren did not f.uck up during qualifying in Hungary last year causing Alonso to be demoted five places and consequently losing first place to Lewis, he would have won the race and consequently the WDC in the end? - That Fernando is a much much better and experienced driver than Lewis, and that he could have given McLaren the WDC and CC both last year and again this year? Yes....

F1Tos, I cannot agree with you more. All you said is correct, but its past tense. As I said let's move on, it's a boring subject. I don't think that there is anyone on this forum who have written about this subject more than me in this forum before the racing started, but we are in a new season now, and that debacle has become history. By the way, Liverpool drew 1-1 against Chelsea yesterday, they did not lose. Don't any of you like football? Or is it that we only like to kick certain F1 drivers around? Will Fernando stay at Renault next year? Will he go to Ferrari? Will Toyota, BMW-Sauber or RBR snap him up if he's available? WHO CARES? Let's see what's gonna happen now first.

We have all once agian fallen in to last year's McLaren/Fernando/Lewis debacle. That was last year, and its gone. Let's move on chaps. Next Sunday is the start of the European races, and after that we shall have a good idea where everyone stands in the pecking order. After watching Liverpool lose last night against Chelsea in the last few seconds of the game, and to add insult to injury, due to an own goal, then in sport anything could happen. Forget last year, let's see what shall happen next Sunday and let's all take it up from there. Let's hope that Manchester United wins this evening against Barcellona, and that Henry and Ronaldhino will be easy with us. Some hope!!!!!!

....then with the full co-operation, committment and development knowledge of Fernando, they will produce a winning car for next year. Result: He'll stay at Renault. This year he can do nothing about the car's situation except learn the hard way to move forward from midfield in a midfield car. There is no doubt that if he is free to move from Renault, there will be numerous bids for his services. All teams wants to win, and they cannot win unless they have winning oriented drivers. What would be better than a young, 26 year old 2 x World Drivers Champion?

Calvin, I think that this phobia that the press seem to have about Alonso moving next year is all speculation, no one knows what's really going on. Let's forget the events of last year and start from here: - Next year there are various rule changes which shall require a tidal wave of new designs and development; - Ferrari have already started the 2009 development with Michael Schumacher as developing driver. - All teams shall require the best inputs and feedbacks from their drivers to have a competitive challenger for next year; So where does all this lead us? As far as Renault is concerned, and if they are ready to put in enough money for development, and the engine rules are eased..
