Am so pleased Shinya hasn't been pushed out of racing. Like Guintoli, they've never been provided with the "top-shelf" MotoGP bikes so have only ever been pretty mediocre in the points and (perceived) talent. It's a shame Guintoli wasn't offered a WSB ride, as the series has been (let's be honest) far more exciting to watch than MotoGP these last couple of years.

Would be interested to know what the TV viewing figures of WSB are like over the last few years. Bet they've been steadily growing again. Seems to be getting more and more popular with race fans as the place for thrilling action (as also noted by Mr Rossi).

Good luck to Shinya, I'll be rooting for him, he's a true gentleman.

LOL... wow there are some really jealous people on here! Even though the best racers in the world past and present regard Rossi as probably the best there has ever been, people will always try and put his achievements down to best bike, best engineer, conspiracy theories about how everyone elses bike was made slower etc etc.... funny stuff!

No doubt Belinda and her PR savvy chums are reading these posts, and perhaps we might even get a PR savvy post from Belinda at the BBC telling of her and her team's passion for the sport, but I have just one question... After obtaining the live rights to MotoGP in 2009, how IN ANY WAY has the coverage changed since 2008 when Eurosport coverage was broadcast live? Just one example will do! Crap... Eurosport has been miles better this year in that it's in widescreen and no commercial breaks during races. Just give us Randy Mamola back on the team and a live race and it will be PERFECT!!!!

fanofthesport, here is the clip I promised. Bear in mind these guys are not discussing Haga or Spies (although they agree Spies thoroughly deserved the championship), it is about Fabrizio's behavior in the last few rounds as a team mate. I know everyone looks at bike riding as an individual sport, but these 3 discuss it from a team's point of view... see it before I get banned from YouTube... Go to YouTube and type in: WSB Fabrizio Go to 3.41 into the clip... What do you think Tardozzi said to Fabrizio in the pits?
