Am so pleased Shinya hasn't been pushed out of racing. Like Guintoli, they've never been provided with the "top-shelf" MotoGP bikes so have only ever been pretty mediocre in the points and (perceived) talent. It's a shame Guintoli wasn't offered a WSB ride, as the series has been (let's be honest) far more exciting to watch than MotoGP these last couple of years.

Would be interested to know what the TV viewing figures of WSB are like over the last few years. Bet they've been steadily growing again. Seems to be getting more and more popular with race fans as the place for thrilling action (as also noted by Mr Rossi).

Good luck to Shinya, I'll be rooting for him, he's a true gentleman.

"have done a few ride days there" You lucky git Duke! I however am currently 5 times World Champion now (MotoGP 2007 on the PC) at the track so am more qualified than most on how real MotoGP racers should deal with it  I suggest Rossi and Stoner don't brake too hard on the last bend (always in the wet on MotoGP 2007) as it will spit them off and make the say "sh**" before pausing the race and putting the kettle on / cracking another can open (depends on time of day)...

"Over here in the UK we have to surface at an ungodly hour to watch!!" Alas Robert there was a time a few years ago when I would stay up all night to watch the early-morning races, but age, cynicism and a dislike for the 800cc class has forced me to enjoy my Sunday morning lie-in and watch it when I get up! Here's hoping for a great race even though it will have happened 6 hours ago when I watch it!

Yes indeed Duke! I seem to remember a very thrilling race where James Toseland beat Troy Baylis here, but everybody forgets that one of course because JT isn't a very good MotoGP rider... Even Baylis took his hat off to JT for that one! Philip Island is the best motorcycle racetrack of them all! But remember whilst the engineers are working hard for final race prep, the KSC (Kamikaze Seagull Club) are as-we-speak plotting their next victim... Nori Haga was the last successful target in WSB! Who will be next???

"Rossi claimed to Stoner that "This is racing." and Stoner replied "Well see.". then he proceeded to crash whilst leading for the next 2 races after he realised rossi was catching him... psyche!

Registered at last (Holes is no longer) Alas everybody expected / hoped for a close and exciting race at Estoril and look what happened! I reckon if Rossi doesn't have bike problems he will beat Lorenzo, but Stoner will be very strong. If all his problems were psychological, then he straightened his head out last round. He'll be at 100% for this one! Here's to a good race! A good race these days is the top 5 separated by less than 10 seconds!

"I really don't think your wunderkind JT is blameless" That says it all mate. I ain't taking "sides" like you seem to be... S*d off, I don't give a damn what you think, a rider got hurt today,it happened to be JT... Don't you feel a tiny bit concerned when ANY rider gets hurt? I do... "Don't belive everything you read!" So where you getting your information from then? Don't tell me you "have a mate of a mate of a brother of a mate who is close to the paddock"... am curious...

ToneDef and Ratty, that is exactly the story I read (from several sources), a couple of people reported it in posts on here but were ignored in favour of the JT-Is-Satan theory... JT is a great bloke and a top class rider. He is having a bad pre-season. He will bounce back. I just can't believe the level of childishness in some of these posts... I wonder if they ride bikes?

yes they were mate, they helped make up 19 bikes on the grid... now there are 17, plus Kawasaki is a major manufacturer. Their resignation is more important than you seem to think!
