Am so pleased Shinya hasn't been pushed out of racing. Like Guintoli, they've never been provided with the "top-shelf" MotoGP bikes so have only ever been pretty mediocre in the points and (perceived) talent. It's a shame Guintoli wasn't offered a WSB ride, as the series has been (let's be honest) far more exciting to watch than MotoGP these last couple of years.
Would be interested to know what the TV viewing figures of WSB are like over the last few years. Bet they've been steadily growing again. Seems to be getting more and more popular with race fans as the place for thrilling action (as also noted by Mr Rossi).
Good luck to Shinya, I'll be rooting for him, he's a true gentleman.

Top ten MotoGP stars: Dani Pedrosa [6].

"this result is indicative of the only of Crash.net visitors mentality" ermmm... isn't that sort of the point of this poll?

"Crash.net recently asked for your MotoGP star of 2008"... why is everyone complaining about the results? Of course this is a popularity contest poll! If it was about voting on who was most successful then you only need to look at the final standings!

WSBK zeroes in on MotoGP speed.

Wiggysan, say next year Honda made a massive breakthrough and Pedrosa won every race by 15 seconds, followed by Rossi or Stoner a further 10 seconds back, would that make MotoGP spectacular and interesting enough to watch on TV or visit you local MotoGP event? Say he smashed every lap by 2 seconds, would that make it worth watching more because we see the pinnacle of motorcyckle technology make a massive advancement? It might be for you mate but for the vast majority of people want elbow-to-elbow racing!

Elias critical of Ducati support.

I wonder if Honda will try to beat Ducati at their own game and produce a 1200cc twin to spank them (see Colin Edwards on the SP1 and SP2... would be fun...

Geoff Wright, you do like to generalise don't you? I'm not a Rossi "groupie" but Ducati treat people terribly sometimes. Look what they did to Capirosi... Their golden boy, until Casey came along and they dumped him after one lousy season... Why do you think anybody that makes an anti-Ducati remark is a Rossi groupie?

Macau: Rutter on provisional pole.
Sick Cylinder the WSB and MotoGP 2008 reviews were a real disappointment this year. Usually both shows are presented in a studio with one of the riders and a couple of experts discussing the year. This year they just showed bits of each race etc, seemed a bit too rushed...

Capirossi podiums in rally appearance.

Kowalski, agree 100%... Seems whenever bikers get in cars they are fast (I believe when Rossi got in a Formula 1 car he was less than a second off the pace?)... And when car drivers get on bikes, they are (sort of) fast. Schumi rides MotoGP bike and is 5 seconds off the pace (could we do that?) If you are fast you are fast! I'm in Sheffield and I bet Toseland whizzes his trolly round Morrisons 5 times faster than me!

Gambalunga. there was talk in MCN a couple of weeks ago and this week about the posibility of MotoGP staying on Eurosport, as the BBC could divide it's GP output to different chanels. Eurosport, Sky Sports and Sentanta have all been considered... Apparently the BBC had a meeting with Dorna at Valencia but remained tight-lipped....

Nothing wrong with saying what he did. If you remember back to this time last year, Dovi said the same thing...
