Am so pleased Shinya hasn't been pushed out of racing. Like Guintoli, they've never been provided with the "top-shelf" MotoGP bikes so have only ever been pretty mediocre in the points and (perceived) talent. It's a shame Guintoli wasn't offered a WSB ride, as the series has been (let's be honest) far more exciting to watch than MotoGP these last couple of years.
Would be interested to know what the TV viewing figures of WSB are like over the last few years. Bet they've been steadily growing again. Seems to be getting more and more popular with race fans as the place for thrilling action (as also noted by Mr Rossi).
Good luck to Shinya, I'll be rooting for him, he's a true gentleman.

Thanks for posting the Rossi interview... wow, if it weren't for the new 2 year contract, that would almost seem like a threat! Imagine if Rossi defected to WSB... like him or loathe him, he still has the biggest fan base by a massive margin... WSB would cream MotoGP in popularity... Great job by Nicky on his first day, and Melandri too!

Valencia - Race results.
1 agrees.
Just been watching an interesting interview with Colin Edwards on MotoGP.com. He was asked if he would be keeping the same crew for next year. He said up until a couple of days ago he was but then his crew chief dropped a bombshell and said he was going to work for "wonderboy" next year.... Anyone shed any more light on this??? Cheers

And Spies would have done better? Why does it make sense?

Well done to the top 3, but wow, was that a dull race! Rossi lost the front for a moment on one lap, and Mamola said it was probably due to a lack of concentration... Too right Randy! After half distance started folding the washing... Yawn...

Rossi: We might only finish eighth.
1 agrees.

This sounds like quotes from a team that genuinely don't give a hoot where they come in the race... They just wanna have a laugh! Of course Rossi still wants to win (as do ALL racers, including Melandri) but there is absolutely NO pressure on them at all... After qualifying today, even the mechanics in Rossi's garage were smiling when they realised they had ran out of qualifiers too early... I don't think Rossi will win tomorrow (progbably Stoner) but he will still be laughing and smiling no matter where Fiat Yamaha comes... I'm gonna be rooting for Hayden tomorrow to stuff it to Honda as a goodbye pressie...

I wish Julian Ryder would stop mentioning it every other sentence too "Wow, and with his injured wrist! Amazing" etc!...

Edwards content, Toseland 'on eggshells'.

Wow, 3 of these comments make you realise what a stupid, sad bunch of armchair critics we all really are... Why is it when ANY rider (Rossi, Stoner and pretty much everyone else is interviewed to explain their poor performance), they are "moaning"... If someone asked you why you are not a MotoGP rider, you would be accused of moaning!
