It seems whatever i say about stoner isn't good enough, im glad he's in the sport and raising rossi's game to another level. I'm also glad to see that rossi could reach that level and beat him, yes the stoner fans who say 'stoner is better than rossi' and so on, really have no clue, they've chosen who they like and won't hear anything else of it. I'm a rossi fan, but i give credit to stoner, i did in 2007 when he won the championship, but like it's been said, to compare him to rossi is silly, did casey win in 125's and 250's? Has he gone to an inferior factory and won? No he hasn't and to be honest, he'll never be better than rossi, he can only really equal what rossi has done.

The sad thing is, stoner will probably win sunday permitting the 'wrist' is ok to race if he does win, all the fanboys will be saying how stoner is the 09 champion already, forgetting there's still 16 races to go and rossi is likely to only be 5 points behind. The season is long, if stoner win's it, well done to him, if rossi win's it well done to him, but i think it's gonna be a lot closer than the fanboys make out. As for not racing a bike, have any of you raced a motogp bike? doubt it very much, just because i haven't raced a bike doesn't mean i don't know anything, i know it takes a lot more than twisting a throttle to ride like these guys do, hence why i watch the sport.

It's been said stoner has faith in the electronics and if you took the time out to watch the graphics from laguna u'll see stoner was able to 'open the throttle' earlier than rossi, not that it gave him much of an advantage in that race, or many of the other races after that. As for the stoner era. please tell me if it's the stoner era why didn't he win the championship last season? oh thats right cos he had a bad wrist, no cos the bike wasn't perfect, sorry it's cos the team were too arrogant, i get confused with all the excuses. Have i knocked stoner? no. i've said he's fast and the favourite to win here, stoner fans seem to be a bit blind as to this being on of rossi's worst races in 08

I've already said stoner is a great talent.. all i'm saying is the ducati can exit corner's better than any of the other bikes out there, what's wrong with that? It's clear that the ducati can out accelerate any other bike out there, it's also clear stoner can pin it earlier in a corner than anyone else, this is down to the electronics, i never said it was a huge advantage, at the same time rossi's yam has much better mid corner and possibly entry speed, so it pretty much evens itself out. I'm not getting in to this whole ducati faster better traction control argument, there is no argument, but i bet if stoner ever leaves ducati, he never wins another championship.

Oh dear, oh dear.. I love how 2008 is so easily forgotten, just remember with assen this was rossi's worst race last season. If he's only point 4 behind stoner after 1 session, he's doing a whole lot better than 2008. Ok stoner can't improve on the win from 2008, but rossi is a whole lot closer and like i've said, we've seen what happens to stoner when rossi gets close to him.

Funny how it's always 'if casey win's' let's not forget who's world champion, and who scored 16 podiums out of 18 races last season. As for edwards, he went fast here last season, he's usually alright in practice and there or thereabouts in qualifying, it's the race he usually naffs up, i hope he does well this year and also wouldn't mind seeing him bag that first motogp win. The speed down the straight might be close, but that ducati still takes some beating at exiting corners, anyone remember the telemetry from on board at laguna last season when they had rossi and stoner onboard, and stoner was able to fully open the throttle sooner than rossi, even though he was behind him.

The greatest out there, haha...ok. Another stoner fanboy/rossi basher getting ahead of himself. Ok stoner's fast, arrogance like that is poor and im sure your the last kind of fan he would want. Childish comments like that, are what ruin this forum, the sooner the school holidays are over the better.

Main point is. Stoner is faster, but can he keep it up for 22 laps. We'll only find out sunday, until then no one knows, if any of you do, please can i have the lotto numbers for tomorrow night as well.

Totally agree FR. I think Rossi will come out of the session almost satisfied, when he see's the data, he'll know he's fast and for rossi to be that close in the first session is good, stoner and the team have always been fast out of the box, so no real change there i just think people will have expected stoner to be leading by more than this come the end of today. Surely it's a good thing from a racing point of view that rossi is close to him, i'm obviously a rossi fan but i'd rather see a good close race than rossi ride off in to the distance each weekend. Just hope the other riders can get a bit closer next session, be good to see a 4-5 bike battle for the win and start 09 off nicely
