Rossi''s comments about the bike and tires being really good show, to me, that he''s under an incredible amount of pressure.

There''s no reason to think that he won''t at least be on the podium at Jerez, given the improvement in the M1, his record at the circuit, and what has to be an ever-increasing hunger for a win.

This guy is far from finished and is probably the most highly motivated rider out there right now.

So has the conventional wisdom that the "250 riders will have an inherent advantage over other riders on the 800's" finally been proven incorrect? I maintain that a good rider will be able to find a way to be fast on any type of bike, no matter whether they're a Spanish kid coming up from 250's or an Australian, American, or Brit coming from a Superbike background. Lorenzo will find his way, but there's a lot of stuff to learn in a very short period of time - a new bike, tires, team, competitors, etc. It doesn't help his cause that the team is divided between Bridgestone and Michelin. It looks to me like Michelin is still behind Bridgestone in terms of race tires.

Nicky stayed because he had a contract to fulfill for starters. We'll see who is the better rider now that the bike seems to be adult sized.

107 laps! I just hope Pedrosa appreciates the effort.

Hopkins is an extremely talented racer. It takes a lot of things to be successful, not the least of which is supreme self confidence. It's good to see that the kid still has it after so many years on machinery that wasn't capable of taking on the Honda and Yamaha factory bikes. Until last year, they didn't appear to be in the same neighborhood with the big boys. Last season will have left him with a powerful resolve to be on the podium more often and ultimately on the top step.

After my last post I got to thinking about just what Pedrosa meant by his comment. Then Dennis Noyes chimed in with the voice of reason. I don't know the question that was asked nor what any subtleties his response in the Spanish might have been. It did sound bad, but Pedrosa may have meant that having Hayden develop the bike wasn't "beneficial" to his style and size. I've seen a couple of different versions of the story, so until he offers clarification (not likely) I'll withhold judgment on this statement. I still don't like Pedrosa.
