BIGSNOOPY, Edwards is using Pedrosa's bike setup and data, that is the only way Edwards could be faster than Rossi. Stoner has been using Dani's setup from the 250cc days, that is why he won the title last year, and Rossi used Dani's data all of his years at the MotoGP (Dani's data from 125 & 250cc), that is why he win more than a few races. I even heard that Leob use Dani's bike setup on his car, that is why Leob is so fast on the tarmac!!!!

The problem with Ducati is Suppo! They should get rid of this puff-adder and put somebody like Tardozzi in!!! Look what happened when Bayliss insisted on having David Tardozzi (and Ernesto) with him in 2006, he won! Bayliss would had much more success if he had Tardozzi from the start of his MotoGP career. Same goes to all other riders which had work for Livio "Brutos" Suppo.

The day Rossi will retire will be a good day! I'll miss Rossi and MotoGP will lack THE benchmark, but I'll not miss 70% of his fans who should focus on football instead. Maybe these fans should retire, so we can enjoy the great Rossi in a more relaxing way.

Some say Casey is a moaner, while I will say Edwards is an "excuser". 7 years in Moto GP, both on Honda and Yamaha, among others on the factory M1, still no wins and lots of excuses. Edwards should go to AMA and earn lots of money for little effort, because he will not be a title contender in MotoGP or WSBK. WSBK is far to aggressive these days, and there are lots of fast riders who do want to win AND will try hard to win. Edwards strongest side these days is keeping the wheels on the ground and the paint without damage.

He might not be Corser in term of being almost always fast, but I think Shakey will win at least one race next year, while I don't think Corser will win any race next year while he will be title contender.

If too much power and cost is the problem, they could put restriction on max number of valves, say, max 8 valves (totally) and 1000cc engines. So 2 valves per piston fours, 4 valves per piston twins and 8 valves singles(Honda could bring back the oval piston!!)!!!! Further, no TC, GPS and carbon brakes, single tire rule.

Restricting fuel is the wrong way to go. We do not want to see that riders that use "too much" throttle get punished by less HP towards the end of the race. The whole 800cc concept is a joke! There have been more bad injuries on the 800cc bikes than on the 990cc. What happened to Kato have nothing to do with the 990 engine. It seems to me that the 800cc with all the electronics is not "scary" enough for the riders and some push more than they would dare on the 990 (back then with less electronics).

mavrick, Xaus rode very well when he was team mate with Bayliss and Hodgson, and he was stronger than Hodgson in the second part of the year Hodgson won his title! I bet Xaus win on the BMW before Corser! Corser have not won now for 2 yea.rs If BMW wants a win at the WSBK, than Xaus is the one of the man to get a hold on.

Sick Cylinder, Bayliss always had good starts, also on the 998 without TC. I agree with Son, Byrne is is for sure fast but only time will show if he have is something like Bayliss in him. Nitro Nori, yes Bayliss was always on a good bike, but he was not the only one. The R1 is probably just as good as the 1098 in the last half of the season. As I mentioned in an other thread, the Portimao track is so new so the track gets faster day by day as more rubber is laid down. There is more rubber on the track during this test compared to last week-end, so they should manage to run lap times just as good as during the races at Sunday!!

Dunst, think what you want but Casey almost always lift up his arm and signaling all the others to pass him whatever he is on pole or not. And he doesn't really ride harder towards the end of the lap to heat the tires up, he doesn't really seems to be concerned about the tire temperature, and he is usually fast from the first lap, so I guess he manage to handle cold tires on the first lap. I think that he do that exactly to save as much fuel so his ECU will not start to cut on the fuel flow towards the end.

Stoner is smart, why do you think his warm up lap is ALWAYS so slow? He doesn't burn as much fuel as all the others which uses lots of fuel on the warm up lap!!
